Kotobukiya Reissues Shunya Yamashita's Bishoujo Sadako Figure For May 2027
A re-release rather than a new sculpt suggests Kotobukiya still sees demand for the Yamashita Sadako design at a 19,800 yen price point, with the May 2027 date set well ahead.

Kotobukiya is re-releasing the HORROR Bishoujo Sadako figure, sculpted by Salle cato from a Shunya Yamashita design, in May 2027 at 19,800 yen. The 1/7 scale PVC and ABS figure stands about 170mm with its base. Swappable parts give two faces: one hidden behind long black hair, one with her eyes visible. She floats above a pile of videotapes, and the set includes a videotape-shaped box with two rolls of decoration tape.
The figure places Sadako above a towering pile of videotapes, floating as if by psychic ability, and one tape in the stack is said to differ from the others. Her white dress is cast in clear material to show skin through the water-soaked fabric, and the peeled fingernails and toenails are colored like red nail polish. A videotape-shaped box holds two rolls of decoration tape, including a spare, so the amount on display can be adjusted.
The 1/7 scale figure stands about 170mm including the base. Salle cato handled the sculpt.
