STALZONE is a free MMO extraction shooter from developer EXBO, available on PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. The game is currently running its TULPA! season, with new quests and seasonal events planned, and EXBO presented a trailer focused on that season at The FPS Game Show on September 4.
STALZONE is the current name of a free MMOFPS from developer EXBO. The game was renamed from Stalcraft: X on June 18 after the original title was rejected for trademark registration because it resembled Blizzard's StarCraft. A legal battle and a change to Stalcraft: X did not resolve the problem. EXBO also said the name misled players about the game's genre, which is now an extraction shooter with MMO elements.
The game keeps the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone setting and draws influence from S.T.A.L.K.E.R. It is free to play and runs on PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. The rename dropped the 'craft' suffix that suggested a sandbox survival game.
On September 4, EXBO showed the latest STALZONE trailer at The FPS Game Show. The trailer is built entirely around the recently started TULPA! season, with new quests and seasonal events planned. EXBO is pitching the current moment as the best time for returning players to come back.
