Reincarnation in the Game World Dan-Katsu Anime Reveals Cast, Staff, January 2027 Debut

The television anime adaptation of Kaede Nishikigi's light novel series Reincarnation in the Game World Dan-Katsu has revealed its main cast, staff, teaser visual, and promotional video, along with a January 2027 premiere date. The announcement came via the anime's official website on Monday. Yuto Uemura, known for roles such as Thorfinn in Vinland Saga and Atsushi Nakajima in Bungo Stray Dogs, will voice the protagonist Zephyrus. Nagisa Miyazaki, whose credits include Negima! and Eternal Alice, is directing the series at STUDIO MASSKET, with Yuji Kobayashi handling series composition and scripts. The story follows a gamer who has spent over 8,000 hours playing the dungeon-crawl game Dungeon Shukatsu no Susume, only to lose all save data and die of shock. He wakes up reincarnated in the game's unconquered world, gaining the strongest job of hero and starting a new game in that world. Nishikigi launched the story on Kakuyomu in January 2021, and TO Books began publishing the novels with illustrations by Shuri in March 2022. The 16th novel volume ships on August 15, and a manga adaptation by Hiroshi Asagi has been running on TO Books' Corona EX website since April 2022.
