GRYPHLINE released the Steam version of Arknights: Endfield on October 15, 2026. The port adds Steam screenshot and Game Recording tools, letting players capture with F12 and keep clips together in Steam's Recordings and Screenshots. Existing players can link their GRYPHLINE account to Steam to continue with prior progress. A Steam Community guide by SanderLy describes copying already-downloaded game files to skip a fresh download.
The Pokemon Company will release the board game "Are You Perhaps Team Rocket?" on November 12. It costs 2,200 yen, supports 4 to 6 players, is aimed at ages 10 and up, and runs 30 minutes or more. It is co-developed by YOKA Games. The TV commercial features Megumi Hayashibara, Shin-ichiro Miki, and Inuko Inuyama, the Team Rocket voices from the Pokemon anime.
Clover Rock Games is developing Livin' the Cream: Ice Cream Simulator, with Ritual Interactive co-publishing, and a demo is available on Steam. Japanese is supported and release is scheduled for Q4 2026, with the price undecided. An October 13 update added mode selection and chocolate coating. Players run an ice cream shop: making ice cream, combining flavors, adding toppings, serving customer requests, customizing the shop, cleaning, and buying and restocking ingredients from the local market.
Shanghai Alice Reprise, the studio ZUN established, will release a physical edition of Touhou Koumakyou: New Classic ~ the Embodiment of Scarlet Devil. for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on December 17. The Switch version costs 4,400 yen and the Switch 2 version 5,610 yen. Alliance Arts handles sales. The game was previously download only, and the physical run follows user requests for a copy on hand.
Developer Dan released a demo of the PC game POISONED on unityroom and itch.io on October 14, 2026. Players face off one on one at a dinner table, poisoning their own plate, placing three plates on a tray, and passing it to the opponent. A Steam version is planned later. The demo covers one match, from appetizer to conclusion, and supports online versus play.
Gen Hoshino and Yui Aragaki announced on Tuesday the birth of their first child in a joint statement released through their respective agencies. The two co-starred as Hiramasa and Mikuri Tsuzaki in the 2016 live-action adaptation of Tsunami Umino's The Full-Time Wife Escapist manga, and reunited for a sequel special in January 2021. They announced their marriage in May 2020.
The television anime of Nao Iwamoto's The Seven Knights of the Marronnier Kingdom manga has cast Shoya Ishige as Johann, a noble house's son from Marronnier's western territory and vice captain of the Marronnier knights. Johann heads to the Country of Long Nights with Insomniac on a diplomatic mission and appears in the third episode on Saturday. The anime premiered on NHK Educational on October 3, with Amazon Prime Video streaming.
Infinite Loop released a new Desktop Mate DLC for the virtual artist IA on Steam on October 15, 2026. The DLC costs 2,200 yen including tax and supports Japanese and English on Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit) and macOS Tahoe 26 or later. It uses IA's official 3D model, built by 1st PLACE, the company behind IA since the 2012 VOCALOID3 release IA -ARIA ON THE PLANETES-. Her appearance motion recreates the pose from that package illustration. She jumps up in orbs of light, lands, holds both hands forward, and says, "Hello! I'm IA." In her sitting pose she pulls out a plate of sakuramochi from behind, gazes at it, then puts it away as cherry blossom petals drift. In her standing pose a butterfly lands on her fingertip and flies off along an orb of light. Character voice uses VoiSona Talk "IA TALK," covering clicks, alarm messages, morning greetings, and bedtime lines. The DLC also works with Desktop Mate's multi-character function.
Zoff will take web pre-orders for "Zoff | Bungo Stray Dogs," its first collaboration with the TV anime, from 10:00 on October 21, 2026 to November 25, 2026. Frames carry the abilities and image motifs of six characters, and each pair ships with a scene-still glasses cloth and an original case. Five stores host try-on corners and sell capsule toys. Shipping runs from late July 2027.

The BitSummit Executive Committee has opened entries for the BitSummit Official Indie Selection for general exhibitors at BitSummit 2027. The event runs May 21 to 23, 2027 at Kyoto International Exhibition Hall Miyako Messe. May 21 is a business day for developers, publishers, media, and sponsors, and May 22 and 23 are public days. Entries close January 31, 2027 at 16:00. The entry fee is 2,750 yen per title and covers screening, with no refunds regardless of the result. Titles that pass screening pay an exhibition fee of 33,000 yen per booth, and student representatives can exhibit at 11,000 yen per booth. Screening results are scheduled to be sent by email around mid-to-late March 2027. The 2027 event is the 15th edition.
Bandai Spirits opened reservations at general retail stores and online for the HG 1/144 Gouf Ignited Custom on Thursday, October 15, 2026. The kit builds the mobile suit from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM ZERO, which opens in theaters on January 15, 2027. The sword stores and extends without part swapping, the whip ships in extended and bent states, and the Shield Gatling rotates. Release is April 2027 at 3,190 yen.
TypeSafe AI released Jev 1.14.0 on October 14, 2026, adding image input and a way to raise context length to 262k tokens per request. The decision model, which picks from preset options with a confidence score rather than generating text, had multimodal support disabled because non-text input performed worse. Long context stays off by default. The team also posted self-run comparisons showing higher intelligence, better cost efficiency, and a lower error rate than its previous model and other decision models.
Kotobukiya will release a 1/72 scale plastic model of Mirage C02-URANUS Uranus from the opening movie of Armored Core 3. It is the fifth entry in the revived V.I. (Variable Infinity) Series and is scheduled for March 2027 at 9,900 yen including tax. New molds were cut, part splits and runner layouts revised, and part strength increased. Bandai will release Gashapon "Mobile Suit Gundam CAPSULE INDEX 04" in November 2026, the fourth installment of its non-poseable deformed collectible figure series. The lineup has four types: nu Gundam, Alyzeus, GFreD, and Military Police Zaku. Each play costs 400 yen including tax. The series is built around the idea of an encyclopedia inside a capsule.

Good Smile Company is adding Hitagi Senjougahara and Shinobu Oshino from the Monogatari Series to HELLO! GOOD SMILE, its deformed figure line. Each painted plastic figure stands about 100mm, is non-scale, and has a movable neck. Sculptor NEQ and creative director Shigeto Koyama worked on both. Each costs 1,700 yen with tax and is scheduled for release in March 2027.

A playable demo for Morpho Reverie blends a visual novel with a rhythm game, and the rhythm half is harder than expected. Set in 2040, the story asks what separates music played by humans from music played by AI. The Steam page lists over 80 songs, more than 30 of them original, with 10 playable in the demo and composers including onoken and Kaneko Chiharu.
The demo for Catharsis ~The Last Atelier~, an immersive art adventure from Kodansha Game Creators Lab, released on Steam on October 15, 2026. It covers stages motivated by Van Gogh's The Starry Night and Cafe Terrace at Night, plus Millais' Ophelia. Each clears in about 15 minutes with no game over or time limit. The full version is planned within 2026.
DRAPLINE left early access and launched in full on September 24, 2026 after roughly a year and a half of early access. The dragon-raising roguelite is developed by Kanawow, the solo developer behind the story-driven adventure game Noel of the Masochists. In an interview, Kanawow says the project drew on RPGs, raising sims, and roguelites that had not been tapped in previous work.
SANZIGEN confirmed on Wednesday that it animated the music video for Hololive talent Sakura Miko's song "PON-DERFUL!!!" The song debuted on Tuesday, with the video releasing shortly after on Sakura Miko's YouTube channel. Taku Inoue handled lyrics, composition, and arrangement. The track appears on Blooming Cinderella, Sakura Miko's second album, which released on Wednesday.
Jun Nishiyama, who plays abducted Bekkan member Kazuki Kumagai in the Sunday drama VIVANT, posted an Instagram off-shot in post-torture special makeup. The post carried the lines "Nogi-san, we've been waiting" and "Let's go home quickly." It landed after episode 20, where Yusuke Nogi and the others reached the Bekkan members. Viewers replied with messages including "Welcome back," "I'm glad you're alive," and "You did well." Episode 21 continues the mission to escape the country.
Google Research announced on October 14, 2026 that it has publicly released Deep Review, an AI agent system that detects logical contradictions and mathematical errors in papers and technical documents. It splits a document into units, assigns specialized agents to verify each in parallel, and has another agent consolidate the findings. Google says the tool is free to use up to twice a week. It was developed as the Paper Assistant Tool and trialed with four academic conferences across more than 15,000 papers.
Steven Masada of Microsoft's Digital Crimes Unit said the company, working with Japan's National Police Agency, has begun dismantling an online marketplace that supports scam messages aimed at people and businesses in Japan. The services named are YAM Store, CoGUI, and Iron Man; since January 2026 more than 1 billion malicious messages were sent through them, more than 750 million to Microsoft customers, targeting over 75,000 organizations.

Square, the payment service founded by Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey, announced Square Kiosk, a restaurant payment terminal with a 21.5-inch display and three directional microphones. It shows menus, suggests items based on store location and time of day, takes orders by voice, and accepts card payments. Price is $1,999 with a $99 monthly software fee. At the time of writing it is sold only in the United States, in English.
Apple's research team has developed Minions, a distributed system that gathers idle GPU capacity from Macs across the company and runs AI jobs on them as a virtual GPU cloud. Large jobs are split into small tasks, each handled by a Minion Executor on an Apple Silicon Mac, with results saved to Amazon S3. Apple says waits that once exceeded 10 hours now begin within minutes.

Riot Games announced on October 15 that League of Legends Classic will end once at the close of Season 3, making the mode unplayable in January 2027. The company cited a decline in users, with most players returning to the current League of Legends. Riot says it aims to bring the mode back later as a limited-time event with adjustments.
Bandai Spirits Hobby Division opened product pages on October 15 for the HG 1/144 Murasame Kai (Initial Production Type) from the film Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM ZERO. The kit is priced at 2,970 yen with tax included and is scheduled for release in December 2026. It recreates the mobile suit's dark blue coloring through molded colors, uses the SEED Action System for posing, includes a newly sculpted mock battle rifle, and can switch to MA form by swapping some parts. Accessories cover a mock battle rifle, beam saber, beam rifle, shield, a set of MA transformation parts, two booster tank parts, and a sticker. Reservations open at stores and online starting October 15. ASCII STARTUP will hold ASCII STARTUP TechDay 2026, a conference, exhibition, and networking event for deep tech startups, on Monday, November 30 at Shinagawa Intercity Hall in Tokyo. ASUS JAPAN announced four products for local AI processing: the UGen300 series of edge AI accelerators and a cost-focused UGen200. Sales begin October 16. The USB and M.2 models run from 24,980 yen to 49,800 yen, with the flagship UGen300 at up to 40 TOPS on the Hailo-10H chipset and the UGen200 at up to 13 TOPS on the Hailo-8L.
NEXTBLUE has opened applications for "TOKYO to Global: Femtech & Healthcare Startup US Launchpad," a Tokyo Metropolitan Government project. The program selects 20 femtech and healthcare startups based in or expanding into Tokyo. Over about two years it covers US market fit, market understanding, entry strategy, and English pitch practice. Ten companies then join a Chicago-based MATTER accelerator, and up to 5 conduct US market validation.
Priv Tech announced that its AI Risk Checker now works with group company AI Hack's hallucination detection feature. AI Risk Checker generates verification prompts specific to companies and products, and AI Hack cross-checks responses from external generative AI including ChatGPT and Gemini against a registered correct-answer database. AI Hack announced the feature today and is providing it to some partner companies on a preliminary basis.
Furusato Story Co., Ltd. and NDI Solutions Co., Ltd. will fully launch a DX/AX promotion business in October 2026 using the cloud data platform Domo. FoodFes Inc. will hold the children's hands-on event KIDS FES in WHATAWON on Saturday, October 17 and Sunday, October 18, 2026 at the WHATAWON complex in Kishiwada City, Osaka Prefecture.
