Wandance Stage Play Runs in Tokyo in March 2027

Coffee's Wandance manga is getting a stage play titled Wandance on Stage, running from March 19 to 28, 2027, at the MoN Takanawa: The Museum of Narratives Box1000 in Tokyo. THE JET BOY BANGERZ member Taki will star as Kaboku. Imagine Ito will direct and write the script. Auditions for ensemble dancers will be held in fall.

Live-Action Chotto Mato yo, Harutora-kun Trailer Adds Cast, Opening Song

MBS revealed a new trailer and visual for the live-action series of Amekiri's boys-love manga Chotto Mato yo, Harutora-kun. Six new cast members were announced, and the opening theme song "Ichizu no Rinbu" by Lienel was previewed. The series premieres August 13 on MBS's Dramaphil block.

K Makes Film Debut in Live-Action Blue Lock and Asks to Be Called an Actor

K, a member of the group &TEAM, made his film debut as Nagi Seishiro in the live-action Blue Lock film at its world premiere in Tokyo on July 13. During the stage greeting, K expressed gratitude to the cast and staff and asked the audience if he could now call himself an actor, receiving applause. The film opens in Japan on August 7.

Ultraman Tiga Original Cast Reunites for 30th Anniversary Stage Event

Kazumi Yamashita's Twisted Sisters Manga Gets Live-Action TV Series

NHK announced a live-action television adaptation of Kazumi Yamashita's Twisted Sisters manga. The 10-episode series will air on BS and BSP4K starting January 2027. Miori Takimoto stars as protagonist Rikako Ioroi, a manga artist who reunites with her estranged sisters over their dying father's will.

Manga Mavericks Licenses Zawayuki Taki's Tie Me Up, Stare Me Down

Manga Mavericks Books announced on May 18, 2026, that it has licensed Zawayuki Taki's BDSM-themed manga "Tie Me Up, Stare Me Down" (originally serialized as "Shibatte Mitsumete"). The publisher will release the complete series as a single 3-in-1 omnibus volume in both print and digital formats in May 2027. The manga was originally serialized on Shinchosha's Kurage Bunch website from March 5, 2024, to May 20, 2025, and Shinchosha published three compiled tankobon volumes in Japan, the final one in July 2025. The story follows Sawada, a sales and marketing department head at a grocery store chain who feels crushed by responsibility. After discovering a fetish bar, he receives "special" care from a dominatrix named Nana and experiences liberation through bondage. Print pre-orders are now live on the Manga Mavericks Store. The company also shared a message from creator Taki as part of the announcement during its online Manga Mavericks Monday licensing event.
