Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 to Premiere on Netflix in Fall 2026
Netflix and CD Projekt Red announced on June 28 that the sequel anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 will stream exclusively on Netflix in fall 2026. The 10-episode series is a standalone story set in Night City, described by staff as a raw chronicle of redemption and revenge. Kai Ikarashi, who worked as a storyboard artist and animator on the first season, directs the sequel in his debut as a director. Returning staff include producer and writer Bartosz Sztybor, lead character designer Ichigo Kanno, and scriptwriter Masahiko Otsuka. Studio Trigger animates the series. Four main characters have been revealed: Weak Kingsley, a veteran edgerunner past his prime; D, a netrunner seeking revenge; Roman Carax, a young cinephile; and Talia Yang, a woman from the corporate towers hardened by gang life. A second teaser trailer was released on June 29, featuring an original score by Tsuneo Imahori and the song You Can't Run From Me performed by Rico Nasty. A panel discussion is scheduled for July 4 at Anime Expo in Los Angeles.
