The Record of a Fallen Vampire, the manga by Kyo Shirodaira and Yuri Kimura, ended its original run in 2007 and its English edition shipped its ninth volume in 2010. In September 2026, Square Enix's Shonen Gangan announced in its October issue that the series would return with a new manga, Vampire Jujikai: Inu ni wa Inu no Uta, in the magazine's next issue on October 9. The anime announcement and the print revival ran in the same week, with the new manga launching in Shonen Gangan on October 9.
