The TV anime "Knights of Sidonia" and its sequel "Knights of Sidonia: Battle for Planet Nine" began streaming on the Japanese commercial broadcast platform TVer on July 1. Both seasons, totaling 24 episodes, are available from July 1 through July 14. This marks the first time the series has been distributed on TVer. Based on the manga by Tsutomu Nihei, the first season aired in 2014 and the second in 2015 on MBS and other channels. The story follows Nagate Tanikaze, a boy raised in the lower levels of the massive spaceship Sidonia, who becomes a pilot of the humanoid mecha Garde to fight the alien Gauna that destroyed the solar system. The cast includes Ryota Osaka as Nagate, Aya Suzaki as Shizuka Hoshijiro, and Aoi Toyama as Izana Shinatose.
