Solo developer Yano announced that Dokimon Quest, his monster collection RPG, will be free on Steam for 48 hours starting at 2:00 AM Japan Time on August 25. The game, inspired by Game Boy Color titles, features over 140 Dokimon and 15 locations. Yano seeks feedback for his upcoming sequel, Yami Kids.
The TV anime "Mushoku Tensei III: Jobless Reincarnation" has released advance scene cuts and a synopsis for Episode 5, titled "Celebration." The episode depicts the wedding ceremony of Cliff and Elinalise at the Saint Millis Church, with Rudeus and others in attendance. Meanwhile, Rudeus realizes that Norn and Aisha's tenth birthday has not been celebrated, so he goes into town with Sylphiette and Roxy to buy presents for them. The synopsis also teases that Rudeus's long-cherished wish finally comes true. In addition, an audio commentary for Episode 5 featuring voice actors Yumi Uchiyama (Rudeus), Yoshimi Kohara (Roxy), and Ai Kayano (Sylphiette) will be premiered on the YouTube TOHO animation channel. The commentary was recorded while the three drank alcohol, matching the celebratory tone of the episode. It will begin with an opening talk at 23:58 on July 26, two minutes before the TV broadcast on TOKYO MX and BS11 at 24:00. The third season adapts from Volume 13 of the original light novel series by Rifujin na Magonote, which has a cumulative circulation of 18 million copies.
Ayano Sumida held a release event for her 5th DVD "Cold Eyes, Hot Body" in Akihabara on June 28. The 115-minute work filmed in Okinawa features a more adult image than her previous releases. She also announced a named role as intern doctor Shiori Akai in the TV Asahi drama "Crossroad ~The Promise of Emergency Medicine~" starting July 7.
The anime adaptation of Tanba and Yuunagi's light novel series The Insipid Prince's Furtive Grab for The Throne has cast Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Traugott Lakes Adler and Ai Kayano as Mitsuba. The series premieres July 6 on Tokyo MX and other Japanese networks, with Crunchyroll streaming it internationally.
Mamoru Miyano will voice Cyborg 002/Jet Link in the new Cyborg 009: Nemesis anime, the staff announced on Tuesday. The series follows nine cyborgs rebelling against the Black Ghost organization. Yūki Kaji plays the main character Joe Shimamura/Cyborg 009. The anime streams this summer.
