MARY: Princess Mary Rescue Full Version Announced for Steam in 2027
Indie developer YORUROJI announced on August 14, 2026 that it is developing a full version of the text adventure game MARY: The Rescue of Princess Mary for Steam, with a release planned for 2027. The Steam store page is now public. The game is a significantly expanded version of a short adventure currently available on the game submission site unityroom, where it has surpassed 500,000 page views. The core mechanic lets players add a single character to a button that determines the protagonist's actions, changing the story's meaning and direction. The unityroom version contains over 400 branching paths. The Steam full version will expand the gimmicks and story to more than five times the original size. The unityroom version was created during the Unity 1 Week Game Jam, and many planned features were cut due to the short production period. The full version aims to retain the short-session replayability while adding new mechanics, such as multiple buttons appearing simultaneously and a settings menu where adding a character to the 'Log' button turns it into 'Rogue', starting a roguelike game. The game is centered on Japanese wordplay and will not be localized.
