Studio Pierrot will stream the TV anime Tottemo! Luckyman for free on its official YouTube channel starting September 18, with two episodes every Friday at 6 PM for a limited time. The series ran from April 6, 1994 to March 23, 1995, all 50 episodes, based on Hiroshi Gamou's Weekly Shonen Jump manga. Osamu Nabeshima directed, Yoshio Urasawa handled series composition, and enka singer Aki Yashiro performed the opening and ending themes.

The staff of the Black Torch television anime released a final promotional video on Friday, previewing episodes 11 and 12 and what the video calls the final battle. The finale is set for September 19 on Crunchyroll, which streams the series in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS, and also carries a same-day English dub. Kei Umabiki directs at 100Studio. Gou Suzuki designs characters, Gigaemon Ichikawa writes and supervises series scripts, and Yutaka Yamada composes music. SiM performs the opening theme "Freeze Me Up" and I Don't Like Mondays. performs the ending theme "Groooovy." The anime adapts Tsuyoshi Takaki's manga about Jiro Azuma, who can talk to animals and gains power after a stray cat fuses with him. Ryota Suzuki voices Jiro and Yoji Ueda voices Rago. The anime debuted on July 4. Viz Media publishes the manga in English.

The television anime of Kennoji and R_ringo's My Sword Saint Master Is Too Cute to Live With! manga revealed a new visual and its staff on Friday. Masayoshi Nishida directs at Wolfsbane and Lightbox, with Yōhei Kashii on series scripts and Ichirō Tanaka designing characters. WWWave Corporation's Deregula label is producing. The manga launched on KadoComi in March 2024, and Seven Seas Entertainment will release it in June 2027 under its Ghost Ship imprint.

The V-Cinext Cho Uchu Keiji Gavan Infinity VS Lya has announced three guest cast members: cosplayer Enako as the psychokinetic Nitocris, 7ORDER's Reo Nagatsuma as the fire-wielding Randy, and stage actor Ryojiro Tsuji as the electricity-wielding Carter. All three play members of Survivors, an anti-government group on Planet Arcam, and clash with Reiji Doki and Kentaro Yasui's Fuma Kumu. Character visuals, comments, and a teaser trailer are out. A limited theatrical run starts Friday, December 11.

Square Enix will launch a new trading card series, Square Enix Gallery Cards, with a first set tied to Final Fantasy's 40th anniversary. The pack holds 180 card types across 97 illustrations and releases January 8, 2027 at 550 yen per pack, 5,500 yen per box. Y'shtola of Final Fantasy XIV appears on the package key visual, and rare tiers include a Yoshitaka Amano signed Ultima card, a Phantom hologram card, and an NFC Harmonic card.

Hakuhodo DY Music & Pictures announced on September 10 that Akihito Yoshitomi's sci-fi manga EAT-MAN will receive a completely new anime titled EAT-MAN The Over Order. Yoshitomi, the original creator, handles the script and design concepts, his first credited involvement at the script production stage. Shunji Oga, whose credits include Golgo 13 and Romance of the Three Kingdoms, directs at Studio Cab, the studio he leads. Satoshi Hirayama, known for work on the Lupin III series, is the character designer. Masashi Ebara returns as protagonist Bolt Crank, the role he voiced in the two earlier anime adaptations, roughly 30 years on. A super teaser video and a teaser visual drawn by Yoshitomi were released with the announcement. The teaser video opens on Bolt picking up a screw in a wasteland, then eating metal before a giant weapon appears. Earlier, on September 4, a teaser video showing falling screws had been released without details.

The live-action film of Shohei Manabe's Sins of Kujo began streaming a new teaser on Thursday, adding six cast members. Kiyohiko Shibukawa plays Takehito Mitarashi, Haru Kuroki plays Kanako Kujo, Yui Narumi plays Rui Ota, Eita Okuno plays Uji, Mutsuo Yoshioka plays Karigane, and Yu Tokui plays Kajiya. The film opens in Japan on January 8, 2027.

The TV anime adaptation of Reno Lemaire's French manga "Dreamland" has added three new cast members ahead of its October 17 premiere. Takuya Eguchi will voice Savana, a foul-mouthed, quick-tempered charismatic fighter; Hiroyuki Yoshino plays Saba, an easygoing art college student; and Masahiko Tanaka voices Yung, a mysterious old man who knows Dreamland's secrets. The series follows Terrence, a boy who lost his mother in a fire and, after overcoming his fear of fire within a nightmare, awakens as a Dreamer who travels the dream world. The original manga is a cult favorite in France with over 800,000 copies in print. The anime will air in the ANiMAZiNG!!! slot on ABC TV and TV Asahi affiliates across 24 stations nationwide. Production is handled by Ellipse and La Chouette Compagnie, with directors Juan Pablo Machado and Joe Celse at the helm. The Japanese localization features sound direction by Soichiro Kubo and production by Tohokushinsha and Amuse Creative Studio.

The manga adaptation of Tamaki Yoshigae's Tamer: Trash-Tier to Top-Tier web novel has ended. Overlap's Comic Gardo platform published the final part of the last chapter for premium users on August 13, with the first part free to read. NiwaRhythm launched the adaptation in October 2020, and the 11th compiled volume shipped on August 20.

HUNTER×HUNTER's latest serialized run ended with chapter 420 in Weekly Shonen Jump issue 41, released September 7. The 10-chapter batch matches the pattern set in 2024, when chapters 401 through 410 ran consecutively. The magazine said the next installment's timing will be announced in its pages once decided. Author Yoshihiro Togashi posted on X that manuscripts through chapter 427 are complete, though no publication date has been set.

GKIDS announced on Saturday that it has acquired North American rights to two films: the Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust anime and the live-action adaptation of Makoto Shinkai's 5 Centimeters per Second. The distributor will screen the Japanese-language version of Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust with English subtitles in select theaters this fall, ahead of theatrical and home entertainment releases planned for 2027. The 2000 film, directed by Yoshiaki Kawajiri at Madhouse, is based on Hideyuki Kikuchi's novel series and follows D, a half-vampire hunter hired to rescue a woman abducted by the vampire Baron Meier Link. Cartoon Brew notes the film was developed with an international audience in mind, with its English soundtrack recorded in Los Angeles before Japanese dialogue was completed. GKIDS will also screen the live-action 5 Centimeters per Second in North American theaters. That film opened in Japan in October 2025, ranking second in its opening weekend with 278,000 tickets sold and 420 million yen earned in three days. SixTONES member Hokuto Matsumura stars, Yoshiyuki Okuyama directs, and Kenshi Yonezu performs the theme song.

The television anime adaptation of Kana Yoshimura's MURCIÉLAGO manga will debut in January 2027, as announced at Anime NYC by HIDIVE. The streaming service also released a super teaser promotional video for the series, which will be available exclusively in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. HIDIVE describes the story as following Kuroko Koumori, a former death-row inmate chosen through extraordinary legal measures to act as a state-sanctioned executioner, partnered with driver Hinako Tozakura. The anime is directed by Matsuo Asami at Satelight and Staple Entertainment, with Takashi Naoya serving as chief director and handling series composition. Sei Tateishi designs the characters, while Masanori Akita and Yuichi Tsuchiya compose the music. The adaptation was first announced in July during Anime Expo 2026, and this announcement narrows the previously stated 2027 release window. Sega announced the guest lineup for the Stranger Than Heaven stage at its Sega/Atlus booth during Tokyo Game Show 2026, which runs from September 17 to September 21 at Makuhari Messe. The event spans five days, with both special stages and gameplay stages scheduled. Actor Tsuyoshi Ukaji is set to appear on the September 18 special stage, while professional wrestler Kenny Omega joins the gameplay stage on September 19. Voice actor Akio Otsuka takes the special stage on the same day. The September 20 lineup includes streamer kson on the gameplay stage, with the special stage guest still listed as coming soon. The final day, September 21, features Ushizawa on the gameplay stage and a special last stage with actors Yu Shirota and Dean Fujioka. Phoenixx released the Nintendo Switch version of Menhera-rium, a deck-building roguelite dice game, on August 13. The game is available at a 20% discount until August 26 at 23:59 JST as part of a two-week launch sale. The Steam version has been available since February 18, and at the time of writing, it holds a "Very Positive" rating from 652 user reviews, with 92% positive feedback. Players are confined by a girl with mental health issues, voiced by Yuko Natsuyoshi, and must survive seven days by winning rounds of the dice game chonchiro, wagering their blood. Each day, the player must reach a target score to satisfy the girl; losing results in blood loss. Players can use items to restore blood, rewrite dice outcomes, and modify dice to increase the chance of rolling desired combinations. The girl evaluates each day's results, granting coins used to purchase items, dice outcomes, or packs to build and strengthen the deck. The game is developed by Tezcatlipoca and supports Japanese, English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Russian, and Brazilian Portuguese.
