Manga artist Keiko Okamoto died on May 6 from a cerebral hemorrhage, her family announced via her official X account on June 18. Okamoto was known for 1990s works including "Mugen Patrol YUZU" and "CUTE BEAT Oshare Club!" and had been serializing "The Fallen Substitute Lady Wants to Escape from the Cold Duke!" since March 2026. That series will end with its sixth episode, with a digital single volume planned.
CLLENN Co., Ltd. announced the live-action vertical short drama adaptation of Eito Hisamatsu's manga 'Girlfriend,' starring former NMB48 member Yuzuha Hongo as Hana. All 30 episodes were released at once on June 16, 2026, exclusively on DMM Short, a vertical drama service within DMM TV. The series is a love omnibus horror about a woman descending into hell through toxic relationships.
CyberAgent released the hololive Dreams Snack vol. 2 Umashio Flavor on June 9. Each bag randomly includes a game original illustration sticker of one of 16 hololive production talents, including Ayame Ookami, Pekora Usada, Marine Houshou, and IRyS. The snack is sold at FamilyMart, Animate, HMV, and other stores for 253 yen.
