The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced the 2026 International Emmy nominees on Wednesday. Tatsuki Fujimoto 17-26 is nominated in the Short-Form Series category and the My Melody & Kuromi stop-motion series in Kids: Animation. Winners are announced in New York City on November 23. Both are also prize holders elsewhere: two 17-26 shorts went to Bucheon, and My Melody & Kuromi took Best Animation at Singapore's Asian Academy Creative Awards.
The 17-26 anthology had its world premiere in October 2025 at the Global Stage Hollywood Film Festival at the TCL Chinese 6 Theatre in Hollywood, then ran two weeks in nine Japanese cinemas the same month, in two four-episode parts. The first part holds A Couple Clucking Chickens Were Still Kickin' in the Schoolyard, Sasaki Stopped a Bullet, Love Is Blind and Shikaku; the second holds Mermaid Rhapsody, Woke-Up-as-a-Girl Syndrome, Nayuta of the Prophecy and Sisters. A two-week South Korean run followed at MEGABOX theaters.
My Melody & Kuromi, set in Mariland, launched worldwide on Netflix in July 2025. Tomoki Misato directed at TORUKU from WIT STUDIO, with Shuko Nemoto on scripts.
