World of Horror 1.2 Version Adds About 20% More Volume, Due by Halloween

Ysbryd Games announced on October 20, 2026 that the free 1.2 Version update for World of Horror will release by Halloween, October 31. The update adds roughly 20% more overall volume, completes unfinished elements and restores cut content. New material includes 2 Old Gods, 19 enemy types, 30 items, about 20 types of injuries, mutations and curses, 3 new protagonists and 10 companions, and a new location, Mountains. A revamped UI, improved controls and a rebuilt MOD feature are also planned.

The update also adds an ADV-style scenario about three students who went missing in the forest, and it carries multiple endings. Beyond the new content, Ysbryd is reworking the UI, tightening controls and rebuilding the MOD feature.

World of Horror is set in the fictional port town of Shiokawa and draws its black-and-white look from Junji Ito's manga. The patch's stated goal is to complete unfinished elements and bring back cut content, which puts the 1.2 Version closer to a finished version of the game than a content pack. An earlier announcement had said a console port was in progress, but the October 20 announcement covers only the PC version, and the release timing for PS4 and Nintendo Switch is still to come.
