The roughly 28-minute work pairs four X Japan songs-"Silent Jealousy," "Kurenai," "Endless Rain," and "X"-with CLAMP illustrations from the X/1999 manga in a slideshow style for the first three tracks. The final song, "X," features an anime segment co-produced by Madhouse. Yoshiki told ANN the song selection "came together very organically," noting that his compositions' dramatic quality fit naturally with CLAMP's visual style.
