Yuika Performs Promise Me the Spotlight Anime Opening Song
The theme song announcement gives the adaptation a named artist and a song already performed in public, the kind of marker that usually follows a greenlit production rather than precedes it.

Bandai Namco Filmworks announced Monday that Yuika is performing the opening theme for the television anime of Jun Wakatsuki's Promise Me the Spotlight. Yuika revealed and performed the song, titled "Nanimono demo nakatta Watashi dakara" (Because I Was No One), during her special "Sanvitalia" solo concert on Monday. Kodansha's K MANGA service publishes the manga, which launched in Shonen Magazine Edge in 2022 and moved to the Magazine Pocket app in 2023.
The opening song was performed live before it was announced as an anime theme. Yuika debuted "Nanimono demo nakatta Watashi dakara" (Because I Was No One) at her "Sanvitalia" solo concert, and Bandai Namco Filmworks confirmed the tie-in the same day.
The anime adapts Jun Wakatsuki's manga about Mizuki Natsuno, the least popular member of the idol group Melty Strawberry, and Koichi Okuta, the fan who moves in with her and vows to make her the group's new Center.
