Aoshima Reissues 1/48 ARX-8 Laevatein Kit With Updated Parts And Full Armament Set
Aoshima is treating the ACKS line's opening kit as worth another production run with new tooling adjustments rather than leaving it to the aftermarket, which keeps an entry point into the Full Metal Panic! model range on shelves.

Aoshima Bunka Kyozai is accepting preorders for a renewed ACKS 1/48 ARX-8 Laevatein plastic model, the kit that opened the ACKS line in 2018, at Rakuten Books. The renewal keeps the build supervised by mechanical designer Kanetake Ebikawa while adjusting some fitting and ease of assembly. Armaments include the Boxer 2 76mm shotgun, Demolition Gun, M1108 anti-tank dagger, GRAW-4 monomolecular cutter, and the Lambda Driver Canceller Fairy's Feather. Reference price is 8,580 yen, with a Rakuten Books sale price of 7,151 yen.
The renewed edition was developed over four years and keeps the articulation and deployment gimmicks of the original, so the Laevatein can still be posed for close-combat stances. The armament set also covers replacement sub-arms and a heat dissipation cable effect.
Aoshima lists a reference price of 8,580 yen, with Rakuten Books selling at 7,151 yen including tax. The published images are colored 3D design drawings and may differ from the finished kit. Assembly requires tools and other materials that are not included.
