NIS America released a playable demo for Brigandine: Abyss on Steam. The strategy RPG launches worldwide on PC August 26 and on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 on August 27. The Xbox version is digital-only. A Deluxe Edition for Switch 2 and PS5 includes a mini art book and digital soundtrack.
Makoto Yamamoto, known for the Sengoku Basara series, directs the game. Izuru Matsuno, also from Sengoku Basara, writes the story. Masayuki Horikawa, a Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance veteran, supervises. Character design comes from Junko Kawano (Suikoden, Eiyuden Chronicle) and Hayashi Niji (Fire Emblem Heroes, Shadowverse). Rei Kondō, whose credits include Ōkami, Bayonetta, and Fire Emblem: Three Houses, composes the music.
The game offers six story campaigns and a Mission Mode where players can control any of twenty-four nations. Hex-grid tactical combat returns from earlier entries in the series.
