The webcomic pact puts Crunchyroll into projects at the development stage and ties the streamer to a pipeline Webtoon has already extended through Warner Bros. Animation, Amazon MGM Studios and Disney.

Crunchyroll's New York Comic Con showcase included a development deal with Hayate and Line Digital Frontier for around 15 webcomic adaptations, plus adaptations of The Remarried Empress and The Boxer. Sekiro: No Defeat will debut in January 2027 as an eight-episode series, and Ghost of Tsushima Legends targets a 2028 release.
Crunchyroll used its New York Comic Con showcase to lay out a slate that runs from co-development deals to theatrical dates. The headline item is a pact with Hayate and Line Digital Frontier, a Webtoon Entertainment subsidiary, to develop potential anime adaptations of about 15 webcomic titles. Hayate leads production and Crunchyroll will stream the resulting productions in select territories. The roughly 15 titles are in co-development, not greenlit for production.
The showcase also carried trailers, first looks and release windows across the rest of the lineup.
