The downloadable content costs 2,200 yen including tax and is sold on Steam for Windows 10 and 11 and for macOS Tahoe 26 or later. A new 3D model was built under COVER Corp. supervision. Mori Calliope is a member of hololive's -Myth- unit, with more than 2.6 million channel subscribers, and this is Desktop Mate's first collaboration with a hololive talent. On the desktop she stands with arms crossed or legs apart, pulls the scythe off her back to swing it down, and can appear seated with a wine glass. Petting her brings out skulls for the fan name Dead Beats and a cameo from her mentor Death Sensei. Poking her draws a swing of the hand and occasional anger. All voice lines were newly recorded by Mori Calliope.
Desktop Mate's multi-character feature lets two characters sit on the desktop at once, and the Steam page for the Mori Calliope add-on opened on October 27 for wishlist registrations. The pairing option is not supported in the Mac open beta, which launched in June 2026 and made Desktop Mate available on both Windows and Mac.
Infinite Loop's default character Aiel-tan needs no extra purchase, so Calliope can be paired with her immediately, and the size of each character can be adjusted. The alarm brings its own animation: Calliope jumps in with her arms crossed, spins the scythe overhead, rests it on her shoulder, and wipes her mouth with a thumb to announce the time. Lifting her by the waist draws a dissatisfied expression; held by the hand, she hums and swings her legs. Her hide animation differs at the left and right edges of the screen.
The Japanese voice set keeps one petting line that breaks into English mid-sentence. Recorded scenes also cover poking, hanging, appearing, leaving, and the alarm.
