Why it matters
LOST10 has run on the mechanics of the Shikaradake case, and Episode 4 puts the two leads' losses side by side, so the partnership now has a stated basis instead of an assumed one.
Key Facts
- LOST10 Episode 4 aired on the 6th on TBS and revealed that Nao, played by Shun Oguri, lost his 6-year-old daughter in a traffic accident.

- Sadako Okudera wrote the screenplay, Ayuko Tsukahara directs and Junko Arai produces LOST10.
- Kokoma learns from Akane that the accident happened in front of Nao and that Nao blames himself for it.
His wife Akane, played by Mijika Ichikawa, tells Kokoma that the couple lost their 6-year-old daughter in a traffic accident that happened in front of Nao. Posts on X called the reveal painful, and others responded to the buddy feeling between the two leads.
Kokoma has nowhere to stay in Tokyo, so he goes to the house where Nao always stays and finds Akane there. Akane and Nao have reportedly been separated for two years, and until this episode the drama had established only that she works for an insurance company. A set of children's tableware sits in the cupboard before she explains the accident.
The Shikaradake case keeps running underneath: Kokoma and Nao are in Shibuya looking for Harune, whose husband Nikaido died in the mountains, and the previous episode ended with security footage of Kadon, a tour client who was supposed to have gone missing in the climbing accident. Nao also devotes himself to Nono, a girl who lost her mother, and one post on X asked how he felt while listening to her concerns.
