Manga Mavericks Books will release Sho Yonoko's Gago Hunters: Greetings from Amatsumizu City's Gago Suppression Squad in print and digitally in July 2027, the publisher announced during its online event on Monday. The manga follows four ordinary residents, a hair stylist, a cashier, a high school student and an apprentice, pressed into hunting creatures that outnumber the people of Amatsumizu. It debuted on HERO'S Web in September 2023, and the sixth compiled volume shipped in Japan on July 6.
Manga Mavericks Books is the publishing division of the Manga Mavericks website and podcast, set up in April 2025 to license, localize and distribute work from independent Japanese creators worldwide.
In Gago Hunters, the mayor of Amatsumizu is short of money and short of options, so hair stylist Umeko, cashier Mii, high school student Hiromi and Umeko's apprentice Yuuri are volunteered for the job. The same event brought a variant cover for the February 2027 release of Taiyo Matsumoto's Brothers of Japan, with that cover exclusive to the company's online store.
