Free Manga Schedule Tool Otosazu Reads CLIP STUDIO PAINT Files

A tool built around measuring time per page and per process turns scheduling from guesswork into something drawn from a creator's own past records, and tozica's post-release update (statistics, four added languages, dark mode, automatic updates) suggests the demand was already there.

Free Manga Schedule Tool Otosazu Reads CLIP STUDIO PAINT Files

Reporting from 1 source: GIGAZINE.

Creator tozica released Otosazu, free software for managing manga production schedules, on BOOTH. It opens CLIP STUDIO PAINT .cmc files, shows the page list and thumbnails, and times work per panel and per process. From those records it estimates completion three ways and, once a deadline is entered, shows the work time needed per day. Windows and Mac versions are available; data stays local.

Otosazu came out of a consultation rather than tozica's own drawing work. tozica says he mainly makes adult games and hardly draws manga, and built the tool after an acquaintance asked about managing a manga production schedule, working from what he would want if he were drawing pages himself.

The timing runs through CLIP STUDIO PAINT. Selecting a .cmc file loads the page list and thumbnails, and clicking a panel starts the clock. A Pomodoro function inserts breaks at fixed intervals, and an idle detector stops the timer when there has been no operation. Files that are not .cmc can be imported as .clip or .psd, and a work with no file at all can still be registered and timed.
