NIS America Sets February 25, 2027 for Ys VIII on Switch 2
NIS America is handling the Switch 2 release overseas while no Japan date has been announced, so the updated port with GameShare co-op arrives first in territories NIS America serves.
Reporting from 1 source: Game Spark.
NIS America will release the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA on February 25, 2027 local time. The port runs at up to 120fps and supports local and online co-op through the hardware's GameShare feature. A Nintendo Switch version already exists. As of writing, no Japan release of the Switch 2 version has been announced.
The Switch 2 version adds GameShare co-op, letting players join local or online sessions through the hardware feature. Framerate is the other change: up to 120fps, against the existing Switch release.
The game is the eighth numbered entry in Nihon Falcom's Ys action RPG series, set on Seiren Island in the Goethe Sea and told through adventurer Adol Christin and the mysterious girl Dana. NIS America handles overseas publishing. The announced date covers overseas territories only.
