Peow2 Licenses Jyoshikohei, Alien 9, and Phantom Core for English Release in 2027
Peow2 is building a small catalog around out-of-print and design-adjacent manga rather than current hits, and the pairing of Phantom Core with its Creature Core release shows the licenses are being chosen as a set.

Sweden-based publisher Peow2 announced over three days that it has licensed three manga for English release: Jiro Matsumoto's Jyoshikohei, Hitoshi Tomizawa's Alien 9, and Yasushi Nirasawa's Phantom Core. Jyoshikohei will run in three omnibus volumes starting in 2027, with the first carrying an A3 poster of new Matsumoto artwork. Alien 9 arrives in 2027, and Phantom Core follows in spring 2027, a companion to Peow2's Creature Core.
Two of the three titles carry long gaps since their last English editions. Central Park Media released part of Alien 9 in 2003; the manga ran from 1998 to 1999 at Akita Shoten and inspired a four-episode OVA that debuted in May 2001. Jyoshikohei's seventh and final volume came from Shinchosha in December 2015. Phantom Core, meanwhile, was serialized in Hobby Japan Extra and is being sold as a companion to Peow2's Creature Core, a collection of works and an artbook by Nirasawa, who died in 2016 at 52.
