Reo Announces Coloratis, A Three-Mode Color Puzzle Game For PC

Reo's follow-up to Miriam's Concoction Notes trades a single rule-discovery puzzle for a set of small, differently ruled puzzle modes, which fits the same low-friction structure the studio has used on smartphones and now brings to Steam.

Reo Announces Coloratis, A Three-Mode Color Puzzle Game For PC

Developer Reo opened the Steam store page for Coloratis on October 9, with a PC release planned within the year. The game collects three color-themed puzzle modes with separate rules: ColorDrop, where matching blocks are cleared and the blocks above fall; InkPath, a one-stroke drawing puzzle whose brush color changes as it crosses ink squares; and ColorDice, where a die painted in different colors on each face is rolled to paint designated squares.

ColorDrop is the most familiar of the three. Players clear three or more adjacent blocks of a matching color, and cleared blocks let the ones above fall, so the order of clearing shapes what remains. Frozen blocks and blocks that combine in pairs appear as gimmicks.

InkPath asks for a single line that crosses every square without repeating one, while the brush picks up the color of each ink square it enters. White ink resets the brush. ColorDice has the player roll a die whose faces are each a different color, painting squares with the color the board asks for; some faces apply no ink and some dye other squares.
