Square Enix Sets Final Fantasy 40th Anniversary Vinyl And CD For January 6, 2027
The tracklist is the product: one pick per mainline entry, which turns the anniversary release into Square Enix's own summary of which single piece of music represents each game.
Reporting from 1 source: Denfaminicogamer.
Square Enix will release two Final Fantasy 40th anniversary music products on January 6, 2027: a two-disc 12-inch LP set called THE CRYSTAL VINYL EDITION at 8,800 yen and a single CD in digipak packaging called THE CRYSTAL EDITION at 3,960 yen. Each carries 16 tracks, one per mainline entry from Final Fantasy through Final Fantasy XVI, from "To Zanarkand" to "Battle at the Big Bridge." Amazon orders include a mega jacket bonus while supplies last.
Each format carries the same 16 tracks, one per mainline entry, opening with the Main Theme from Final Fantasy and closing with "Away" from Final Fantasy XVI. Between them sit "Battle at the Big Bridge" from Final Fantasy V, "One-Winged Angel" from Final Fantasy VII, "To Zanarkand" from Final Fantasy X and "Answers" from Final Fantasy XIV.
Purchases on Amazon.co.jp come with a mega jacket on a first-come, first-served basis, with the design to be announced later and the same bonus for either the record or the CD. Square Enix notes the tracklist is tentative and subject to change.
