The Hulu Original side story episode 10.5 of the Nippon TV drama A Tree That Won't Fall After 10 Cuts began streaming on June 14. Titled The Anniversary I Can't Remember, it shows a romantic day between Kim Min-seok (Jun Shison) and Momoko (Sawa Nimura) that was not part of the broadcast main story. Momoko panics when Min-seok announces tomorrow is their anniversary and she has no memory, leading the clinic members to help her identify the mystery. The episode is directed by Shiori Ueno.

TV Tokyo unveiled the teaser, key visual, and details for its live-action Junji Ito omnibus series, which adapts 13 of his manga stories. The series premieres July 3 on TV Tokyo, with South Korean act 10CM performing the ending theme. Anime Expo 2026 will screen the first two episodes, including a world premiere of the second episode.

ORANGE RANGE released the music video for their new song "1000%," created as a soccer anthem for DAZN. The video features 17 people, including former Japan manager Philippe Troussier, players Seiichiro Maki and Marcus Tulio Tanaka, former Hinatazaka46 member Yuka Kageyama, actor Kaito Sakurai, and VTuber Peanuts-kun. Filmed at Saitama Stadium 2002, the MV uses 3DCG for a Shibuya crossing scene.

Taito displayed the first-ever Desktop Cute figures of Nishino Tsukasa and Toujou Aya in school uniform from the manga Ichigo 100% at the 84th Prize Fair in Tokyo on May 20, 2026. The figures are part of Taito's new prize lineup releasing from October to December 2026. Other returning items include figures from To Love-Ru Darkness, My Dress-Up Darling, and Rascal Does Not Dream.

1047 Games announced during the PC Gaming Show 2026 that its new title 'EMPULSE' will begin early access on June 24, 2026. The game is a 6v6 team-based first-person shooter set in a futuristic city called Freehold. A trailer shown at the event highlighted fast movement mechanics including wall-running, grappling hooks, and the ability to board mechs. The early access launch will cover PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. A playable demo will be available during Steam Next Fest starting June 15. The announcement was made on June 8 during the PC Gaming Show 2026 broadcast.

THQ Nordic announced that medieval city management sim The Guild - Europa 1410 will launch in early access on PC via Steam on July 16. A free demo arrives June 15 during Steam Next Fest. The television anime adaptation of the light novel series I Became a Legend After My 10 Year-Long Last Stand has added two new cast members. Miharu Hanai voices Charlotte, the older daughter of Erik, and Suzuna Kinoshita voices her younger sister Mary. The anime is set to premiere on July 6 after a delay from its original April date.

Manga artist Uoto, known for "Chi: On the Movements of the Earth," and director Kenji Iwaisawa, acclaimed for "On-Gaku," have teamed up for a theatrical adaptation of Uoto's debut manga "Hyakuemu" (also known as "100 Meters"). The film, released in September 2025 to coincide with the Tokyo World Athletics Championships, follows the stories of 100-meter sprinters, exploring their obsessive dedication to a sport where years of preparation can be undone in fractions of a second. Iwaisawa, who had been a fan of Uoto's work before being approached by producer Yusuke Terada in July 2021, adapted the five-volume manga into a 100-minute film. The production was notable for its unconventional approach: Iwaisawa turned his personal company Rock'n Roll Mountain into a full animation studio after failing to find a traditional pipeline that fit his methods. The film blends rotoscoping, 3D models, and freehand animation, and features a celebrated 3-minute 40-second uninterrupted tracking shot of pre-race preparations that took a year to animate. Character designer Keisuke Kojima played a central role in the production.

Koei Tecmo Games released an update for Winning Post 10 2026 on May 29, adding a Breeding Simulation function that lets players check breeding results year-round, relaxing conditions for promotion to founder lineage, and adding dramatic camera patterns to regular races. The update also includes reproduction gear for historical horses from late 2025 to 2026 and rotation adjustments for DLC overseas horses.

Keita Machida will appear as a guest on Nippon TV's talk show "Oshare Clip" on May 17, where he discusses his career setbacks and his role in the Netflix film "10DANCE." Machida, who joined the theater company EXILE at age 20 after being scouted, initially aimed to become a dance teacher. He suffered a ruptured left Achilles tendon during his stage debut in "Rokudenashi BLUES," which forced him to leave the production and removed him from the candidate pool for GENERATIONS, ending his dancing career. On the show, he says that playing dancer Shinya Sugiki in "10DANCE" felt like fate. The episode also features a questionnaire from EXILE HIRO, who shares memories of Machida during his setbacks, and a letter from Machida's mother. Machida currently stars in the drama "Tatsuki-sensei wa Amasugiru!" airing Saturdays at 9:00 PM on Nippon TV.
