AnimEigo announced five new home video licenses during its Otakon 2026 panel on Friday, all slated for Blu-ray release in 2027. The slate spans multiple genres and includes both previously released titles and a North American home video debut. Antique Bakery, the 12-episode 2008 adaptation of Fumi Yoshinaga's manga, will arrive on Blu-ray in 2027. Dog of Flanders: The Movie, the 1997 remake of the 1975 series, will receive a 4K restoration in late 2027 featuring both the uncut original and the edited Pioneer English dub with Robert Loggia. ReLIFE, the 2016 comedy series based on Yayoiso's manga, will get a new edition combining its 13-episode television run and four-episode OVA with subtitled and dubbed versions. Ruin Explorers: Fam & Ihrie, the four-part 1995 OVA directed by Takeshi Mori, will receive an HD restoration. Welcome to Irabu's Office, the 2009 Noitamina series directed by Kenji Nakamura at Toei Animation, will be released in North America on home video for the first time, with AnimEigo producing an English dub.
Silver Lining Interactive announced on June 25 that The Witch's Bakery, developed by French indie studio Sunny Lab, will launch on August 20. The game will be available on PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S for 2,400 yen. Players control a young witch named Rune who runs a bakery in modern-day Paris. The day is spent baking and selling bread, the evening exploring the city and interacting with characters, and the night upgrading magic and decorating the shop. Rune can enter the "Heart Palace" of emotionally closed-off people-a magical space where feelings take physical form-and guide those feelings to heal them. The game features hand-drawn art of Parisian districts like Montmartre and Grands Boulevards. Music is composed by Cécile Corbel, known for her work on Studio Ghibli's The Secret World of Arrietty. A physical edition with a digital cookbook (supervised by a professional pastry chef) will come later for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Switch 2. The game raised approximately 310,000 euros on Kickstarter in 2024.
The Korea-Thailand co-production BL drama Wooju Bakery will stream exclusively on FOD starting July 8, 2026. The sci-fi romance follows a bakery owner (Barcode Tinnasit) and a space prince (Jeff Satur) who crash-lands on Earth. The 8-episode series also stars Korean actors DION and Q, and Filipino idol group members Jayson and Alpha. Four episodes will be released weekly.
Cozy bakery RPG The Witch's Bakery, with over 150,000 Steam wishlists, launches in August 2026 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and Switch 2. The game stars young witch Runna in Paris.
