DiceVaders Keeps Three Dice at the Center of Its Roguelike Engine

DiceVaders is a roguelike dice game from Pengonauts, the Montreal studio behind StarVaders. The basic rule is rolling three six-sided dice and activating the effects of the columns matching the results. Units and artifacts in those columns chain effects together, so early scores of a few thousand can reach tens of millions in the late game. Dice remain the core randomness throughout, and reroll resources stay limited.

Dicevaders Launches For Switch, Switch 2, And PC

Playstack released Dicevaders on September 30, 2026 for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. The game costs 1,800 yen and carries a 10 percent launch discount for two weeks. Developer Pengonauts built Dicevaders as a spin-off of StarVaders, the tactical roguelike that holds an Overwhelmingly Positive rating on Steam. In Dicevaders, the player is an alien commander who places units on a grid and rolls dice to raise an attack score. Matching die numbers such as pairs or triples triggers combos, and items allow rerolls or cheats on bad rolls. The roster has more than 60 unit types, 120 artifact types, and 10 commanders with different synergies. Each stage ends with pilots from StarVaders defending Earth. Supported languages total 10, including Japanese, English, Korean, and Simplified Chinese.

viviON GAMES Launches Cloud Service for PC Games on Smartphone Browsers

viviON launched its game sales service viviON GAMES on August 26, 2026, allowing users to play PC games through a smartphone browser. The service runs games on dedicated servers, so play is not affected by the user's device specifications, and it does not require a dedicated app installation. Unlike a subscription model, viviON GAMES uses a per-title buy-to-own format, letting users purchase only the games they want. Each game includes a free trial period that can be used without user registration, with additional trial time granted upon registration. Registered users have their game data saved on servers, allowing them to continue from where they left off after purchasing. At launch, over 30 titles are available, including Aquarium wa Odoranai Special Edition, Yomawari San, Return to Shironagasu Island, and NKODICE. viviON cites a survey estimating 11.7 million former PC gamers in Japan who stopped playing due to life stage changes, and positions the service as a way to reach them during commutes or spare moments. A launch campaign offers 100 viviON points to users who register and subscribe to the newsletter by September 30, with 10 lottery winners receiving all launch titles as a set. The service will be exhibited at Tokyo Game Show 2026 from September 17.

Dice Hoarder Steam Page Launches With 2,800 Dice to Sort

DieCorp Games opened the Steam page for Dice Hoarder on August 22. The game is an organizing simulation set in a magical dice shop, where the player tidies inventory by picking up dice scattered in boxes and on the floor and sorting them onto shelves. There is no time limit, so players can work at their own pace. Over 2,800 dice appear in the shop, and the player groups them into RPG sets of seven: one d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20, and a percentile die. The shop also contains floppy disks that unlock skills for finding or drawing missing dice, though some disks carry an unsettling "HELP US" label. The employer instructs the player to never enter the basement, and the trailer shows what appears to be a basement entrance. All dice sounds in the game were recorded from the developer's own dice collection, and the press release states all content is handcrafted with no generative AI. Dice Hoarder is scheduled for release on Steam soon, supports multiple languages, and is designed for one player.
