Cave Launches Shinyaku DoDonPachi Daifukkatsu on Steam With Assist Mode
Cave released Shinyaku DoDonPachi Daifukkatsu on Steam on August 27, marking the studio's first self-developed and published home console title since the 2013 Xbox 360 version of DoDonPachi Saidaioujou. The game is a refined version of the 2008 arcade classic DoDonPachi Daifukkatsu, rebuilt for modern players. Its headline feature is Assist Mode, which slows enemy bullets as they approach the player's ship, making the game easier to play without reducing bullet density. A trial version distributed in June let players test the first two stages, and the full release adds a new Stage 6 with a new boss named Beyond, voiced by Kikuko Inoue. The game also introduces Royal Mode, a multiplayer mode supporting up to 10 players who compete for survival simultaneously, a first for the shooting genre. New characters Stella, voiced by Satomi Hongo, and Beyond join the roster, bringing the total to seven. Music is composed by Ryu☆, known for BEMANI titles. The game is priced at 3,150 yen, with a 10 percent discount to 2,835 yen until September 6.
