Stupid Never Dies Devs Explain Why Their Zombie Hero Chases One Girl, Not the World
Producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi and director Eiichiro Sasaki, both veterans of the Resident Evil series, discussed their new action RPG Stupid Never Dies in an interview published September 22, 2026. The game follows Davy, a zombie who wants only to bring back a dead girl named Julia. Kobayashi said the zombie protagonist came from an early budget-securing proposal, not from their Resident Evil background, and Sasaki tied the story to underdog gekokujo tales.
