The October issue of Ichijinsha's Comic Zero Sum magazine announced that honomi's manga adaptation of Hana Yakou's Blaze of Flesh and Blood light novel series will end in the November issue, shipping on September 28. Kodansha USA will publish the manga in English starting January 2027.
NHK announced that Hayate Ichinose will play male lead Tatsuki Manabe in the live-action series of Yuki Kodama's Ao no Hana Utsuwa no Mori manga. Rena Matsui also stars. The series premieres on NHK's Yorudora block this fall. The manga ran in Shogakukan's Flowers from March 2018 to March 2022.
Hanashi Media announced it has licensed eight light novels for English release, announced in July and August. The slate includes The Hated Prince's Do-Over, Living the Slow Life as a Demon Lord, Shimotsuki-san Has a Thing for a Background Character, and The Sage of the Forbidden Library. The publisher will release the titles in English and Spanish.

The Pokemon official YouTube channel released the new POKETOON short Kameil to, Natsu no Tsuzuki on August 12. The story follows a boy named Rikuto who visits his grandmother on an island and meets a long-lived Kameil whose tail color differs and whose shell has moss. The September issue of Kadokawa's Comic Cune magazine announced that Hana Ikuta will launch a new manga titled Noraware Yūsha to Tokitai Seijo (The Cursed Hero and the Saint Who Wants to Free Him) in the magazine's next issue on August 27. The fantasy romance follows hero Mikage, who is cursed with petrification after defeating the dark lord, and his wife Crane, a saint curious about curses.
The television anime adaptation of Mochimaru Sakaki's light novel series The World's Strongest Witch: I'm Starting My Free Life in a World Where Only I Can See the Online Strategy Guide has revealed two new cast members and an October 7 premiere date. Yostar will release two new ASMR works for the mobile and PC RPG Blue Archive on July 27 at 0:00 JST. The 10th volume, "Sun, Moon, Words, and You (Seia ASMR)," features Seia voiced by Atsumi Tanezaki. The 11th volume, "It's Sensei's Fault, You Know? (Miyo ASMR)," features Miyo voiced by Kana Hanaishi. The announcement was made during the Blue Archive 5.5th Anniversary Live Broadcast on July 26. Memori Tsukibana, former blue member of the idol group Yuenai, held a release event for her third DVD on July 4 at Sofmap AKIBA Amusement Hall. Nihon Falcom released Kyoto Xanadu -Sakura Genmu- on July 16, 2026, for PC via Steam, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. The action RPG is the latest entry in the Xanadu series, which began in 1985. It follows 2015's Tokyo Xanadu and is set in an alternate Japan where Kyoto is the capital. Gameplay shifts between 2D side-scrolling exploration and 3D boss battles.

NHK announced production of the night drama "Blue Flower, Forest of Vessels," a live-action adaptation of Yuki Kodama's manga, starring Rena Matsui. The 32-episode series, each 15 minutes long, will air on NHK General from Monday to Thursday at 22:45 starting in fall 2026. Matsui plays Aoko Baba, a pottery painter in Hasami-cho, Nagasaki Prefecture, whose work is challenged by a Finnish ceramic artist named Tatsuki. The story follows their relationship as they create vessels together. Most filming takes place on location in Hasami-cho. Matsui took up pottery for the role, saying she felt the clay fit into her hand and imagined Aoko's excitement. Yoko Izumisawa writes the script, and Hiroe Fukagawa directs. Kodama, a Nagasaki native known for "Kids on the Slope," said she is thrilled to see her work adapted faithfully. The drama will also stream on NHK ONE.

Independent developer Majd Rouhana announced Paragon Story, a turn-based JRPG made with RPG Maker MZ, on June 16. The Steam store page went live June 17. The game features job changes, marriage, a carriage system, an airship, and over 200 collectible monster allies. Release is planned for late 2026 to early 2027.
