Anime Feminist's review of episodes 1 and 2 follows Ume Mizunoe, a student repeating a year who joins his school's student council at his homeroom teacher's suggestion. The writer expected a comedy about oddballs and found a premiere built on sexual bits, including a teacher's remark, a student flashing his nipples, and a council member bare-hand spanking a classmate, followed by a knee to the crotch that draws blood.

Wholesome Games Presents announced on October 1 that the PC (Steam) version of Usagi Shima, the rabbit-collecting idle game from studio rabbiko, arrives on October 29, with Japanese in-game display planned. Players manage an uninhabited island, place toys and facilities to attract rabbits, pet and brush them for carrots, and fill a Rabbit Ear Encyclopedia. More than 35 rabbits are included.

The anime debuts in Japan the same day on Tokyo MX, BS11, Gunma TV, and Tochigi TV, with d Anime Store and AnimeFesta carrying both versions. Naoyuki Tatsuwa directs at Passione.

Shochiku Games announced on September 29, 2026 that it will release the digging simulation adventure game A Game About Digging A Hole Together in late 2026 with indie publisher rokaplay. Development is handled by Mipumi Games, working with the developer of the previous game, and the title arrives on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC through Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store. The price is undecided. The game supports online co-op for up to four players with cross-platform play, described as the most requested feature from players of the first game. The core loop stays the same: dig, sell what you find, upgrade equipment, and dig deeper. New terrain and tools have been added, the systems were rebuilt from scratch, and the setting shifts to what appears to be a tropical beach. Freya Allan stars as Iris. A teaser poster and trailer were released.

The television anime adaptation of Muchimaro's four-panel manga Even the Student Council Has Its Holes! will premiere on October 3, 2026, as revealed in the main promotional video released on Saturday. The anime will air on Tokyo MX, BS11, Gunma TV, and Tochigi TV. Sangatsu no Phantasia performs the opening theme song "Kaze no Naka wa Hashirukkya Inai," with lyrics by Noko and vocalist Mia, and composition by Noko. The series is directed by Naoyuki Tatsuwa at Passione, with Ryo Imamura as character designer and chief animation director, and Masahiro Yokotani overseeing series scripts. The main cast includes Shogo Sakata as Ume Mizunoe, Haruka Shiraishi as Hisako Kotobuki, Miyu Tomita as Komaro Michinoku, Hiyori Kono as Tan Otori, Shizuka Ishigami as Arisu Terui, and Yumi Uchiyama as Satomi Hiratsuka. The manga, serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine since 2022, won the print category of the ninth Next Manga Awards in 2023. Seven Seas will ship the first English volume on September 8.
