Konami and Annapurna Interactive announced during the June 2 State of Play broadcast that Silent Hill: Townfall, the latest entry in the psychological horror series, will launch on September 24. The game is set on the fictional Scottish island of St. Amelia and is played from a first-person perspective. Players explore a fog-shrouded, silent town using limited items, weapons, and a pocket TV-shaped device called the CRTV. Developer No Code, based in the UK, is behind the project. The game will be released on PS5 and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Separately, the ESRB published a Mature 17+ rating for the title, citing frequent bloodshed, jump scares, and combat against mutated creatures with pistols, shotguns, and axes. The rating summary also describes a scene where a man is eaten by a monster. The ESRB listing confirms the Scottish island setting and notes puzzle-solving elements.

King's College London has secured early access to Google's Willow quantum processor, a chip that demonstrated calculations 13,000 times faster than the world's fastest supercomputer in 2025. The access was granted through a program run by Google Quantum AI Lab and the UK's National Quantum Computing Centre (NQCC). A team led by Dr. Eleanor Crane of the university's physics department will use Willow to model quantum analogues of brain neurons, aiming to open new paths in computational neuroscience and quantum modeling. The research could eventually underpin development of better solar cells, efficient power grids, and new disease treatments. Crane said the hardware capable of running such complex simulations is extremely rare, and thanked NQCC and Google for the opportunity. Google Quantum AI COO Charina Chou stated the company believes quantum computing holds immense potential as a tool for scientific progress in fields where classical computing faces fundamental limits.

The premiere of Kill Blue introduces Juzo Ogami, a 40-year-old assassin who kills only the worst criminals and has never known a normal life. After being stung by a genetically-modified wasp during a mission, he regresses to a 13-year-old boy. Now he must attend middle school to protect his boss's daughter while a cure is sought. Anime Feminist's review praises the casual atmosphere and strong action sequences, which effectively convey Juzo's decades of experience. However, the reviewer expresses significant discomfort with several narrative elements. There is concern the series may pair the adult-minded Juzo with a middle school love interest, a dynamic the reviewer considers difficult to handle well. The premiere also includes a scene where a comrade hesitates to save girls from a panda-masked pervert, which the reviewer found troubling. The reviewer notes Juzo's excitement at discovering he loves learning, calling it bittersweet given his denied childhood. The review concludes the series is not the most original concept but was enjoyable, and notes the completed manga suggests a full adaptation.

Anime Feminist published a review of the premiere of "Killed Again, Mr. Detective?", the anime adaptation of the light novel series. The review, written by a staff critic, describes the episode as fundamentally silly and disappointing despite an intriguing premise. The story follows Sakuya Outsuki, the teenage son of a world-famous detective, who has no interest in following his father's career and possesses a secret immortality: when he dies, he comes back to life. This gimmick is only revealed in the final seconds of the episode. The review heavily criticizes the writing of the female characters, particularly Lilithea, Sakuya's devoted assistant. The critic argues that Lilithea functions as a walking prop and an exposition machine, defined almost entirely by her unconditional support for the male lead, with little personality beyond that. Her introduction includes a misty panning shot of her taking a shower. The other main female character, Yuriu, is introduced falling through a ceiling in a revealing costume. The review concludes that while the concept of an immortal detective solving his own murder is interesting, the premiere fails to execute it compellingly due to the shallow characterization of its women.

The first episode of The Villainess Is Adored by the Prince of the Neighbor Kingdom aired, following Tiararose, a woman reincarnated as the villainess of her favorite otome game. She expects to endure public humiliation after her engagement to the crown prince is annulled, but neighboring crown prince Aquasteed proposes to her on the spot. The Anime Feminist review finds the premiere competent but unremarkable, noting it follows standard villainess isekai story beats without introducing a unique twist. The review praises Tiararose as a realistic protagonist who is understandably scared but still tries to defend herself, and it calls Aquasteed's rescue and proposal cute for romance fans. However, it criticizes the episode for being boring overall, following the usual structure of the genre with no indication of innovation. The animation by Studio DEEN is described as fine, neither a hit nor a miss. The review compares the show unfavorably to May I Ask for One Final Thing?, which featured a more proactive and system-destroying protagonist. The piece concludes that the show offers a simple, familiar story for viewers who want comfort without depth.
