The television anime adaptation of Jura's manga My Girlfriend's Friend has moved from early production news to a firm premiere date. In July, a teaser promotional video and a second key visual were released, along with additional staff members. At that point, the series was set for an October debut, directed by Takashi Ando at Quad and produced by WWWave Corporation under its Deregula label.
By September, the premiere date was confirmed: October 4 on Tokyo MX at 25:05, which is effectively October 5 at 1:05 a.m. The cast was filled out with Riho Sugiyama as Miyuki and Ryoka Yuzuki as Kaori's mother. The theme songs were also set: Airots performs the opening theme 'Gingira' and Ceui performs the ending theme 'False Love.' A 'Complete Deregula' version will stream on AnimeFesta starting October 5.
Across the two stories, the production has shifted from a general fall window to a specific date and a full lineup of cast and music. The involvement of Quad, WWWave Corporation, and the Deregula label has been consistent since the July announcement. No further staff or broadcast details have been provided beyond what was announced in July and September.
