OffKai Expo Gen 5 ran July 24-26, 2026 in San Jose and drew more than 9,200 attendees, figures announced during the closing ceremony. The convention expanded beyond the San Jose McEnery Convention Center into the adjacent South Hall and the San Jose Civic.
OffKai Expo Gen 5 ran July 24-26, 2026, and organizers announced attendance of more than 9,200 during the closing ceremony. The number is the settled figure for the event and a jump from the prior year, when attendance was 6,900. Before the convention, the estimate for 2026 was near 9,000, so the announced total landed slightly above what organizers had projected.
The other change is the footprint. Gen 5 moved beyond the San Jose McEnery Convention Center and used the adjacent South Hall and the San Jose Civic. Programming was not limited to one hall: corporate booths, a flea market, live music, and panel talks ran across the weekend, and the opening ceremony included wotagei and maid cafe performances. HIMEHINA played their first solo live performance in the West at the Civic, and OffKai LIVE: Dazzling Showtime ran more than three hours the following evening.
Coverage frames the event as the largest VTuber event in North America and as a fan-run, offline meetup that mixes VTubers with cosplay, wotagei, and maid cafes rather than a single-company production. The two accounts agree on the dates, the San Jose location, and the scale of the jump from 6,900; they differ only in how the final number is described, with the pre-event estimate near 9,000 and the closing ceremony announcement above 9,200.
