Sega announced a 35th anniversary CD album and live event for the Puyo Puyo series on July 30. The two-disc album, compiled by sound director Eiki Abe, includes 86 tracks and releases August 24. The live event takes place September 6 in Tokyo.
The Japan eSports Association has officially confirmed 25 athletes as Japanese representatives for the e-sports events at the 20th Asian Games in September. The team includes fighting game players Higuchi (Street Fighter 6), NOBI (Tekken 8), and SCORE (The King of Fighters XV), along with representatives from eFootball, Gran Turismo 7, Puyo Puyo eSports, Identity V, Pokémon UNITE, and PUBG MOBILE. Four coaches will also accompany the team.
Sega will broadcast the ninth episode of its official Puyo Puyo series program on June 13, 2026, at 19:30 JST. Hosted by Mie Sonozaki with guest Kanako Kondo, the show will deliver Puyo Puyo!! Quest updates and a Puyotto News segment. Viewers can earn in-game items for watching.
