The exhibition FINAL FANTASY X MUSEUM -Ko no Kioku- runs from September 12 to September 27 at LUMINE ZERO in Shinjuku, Tokyo, marking 25 years since Final Fantasy X. It is built around 10 themes, with a Zanarkand photo spot featuring Tidus's sword Fratanity, a Macalania Woods area screening Tidus and Yuna scenes, Nobuo Uematsu's production notes, and early storyboard drafts including Yuna's speech.

ZeroBankX Japan will run OPENQR QUEST, a venue-wide game in which participants scan QR codes and barcodes to gather clues, at Tokyo Game Show 2026, which opens Thursday, September 17 at Makuhari Messe. The company is recruiting exhibitors to place game codes at their booths, and the partnership fee is free for TGS2026 exhibitors. The Aniplex One Focus livestream on Saturday revealed a trailer for the "Yoroshiku★Girl" segment of Atsushi Nishigori's omnibus anime film Grotesqqque, previously titled Grotesque. The film opens in Japan on November 6 and had its world premiere at the Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal, which ran July 16 to August 2. It contains three stories: "A(E)liens," "Yoroshiku★Girl," and "Nocturne: Nuit Grotesque."

Bandai will release a Gashapon set titled Machibouke: The Case of Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX from mid-September, priced at 400 yen per play with tax included. The lineup has four types: Amate Yuzuriha (Machu), Nyaan, Shuji Ito, and GQuuuuuuX. Each figure is sculpted at roughly 3 to 3.5 centimeters, seated with knees pulled up in a waiting pose. Square Enix has opened pre-orders on Amazon.co.jp for Gallery Card Vol. 1 Final Fantasy "40th Anniversary" Collection (BOX), priced at 5,500 yen including tax and scheduled for release on January 31, 2027. The box holds 180 types of cards across 97 illustration types, including a newly drawn Y'shtola illustration from Final Fantasy XIV used as the package key visual, and an Ultimate Legend Rare card carrying a digital signature and serial number from Yoshitaka Amano.

Developer Isaac MENARD has released a demo of the mystery game Ghost in the SQL Data on PC via Steam. Players solve cases by writing working SQL queries instead of choosing dialogue or picking locks. The first case opens with a record showing someone reported a fire 14 minutes before it started. The full game is scheduled for October, with Japanese selectable from the options menu.
