Three scene photos of RAN of MAZZEL as Itsukushima Ioji have been released from the live-action Wandance film, opening November 27. The film adapts Coffee's manga, which has surpassed 1.3 million copies in circulation, and stars JO as Kotani Kaboku. RAN said he and Ioji share a dance background and a similar attitude toward dance, and director Kusaba Naoya said he senses no lie in RAN's passion for dance.
LOUD beat Team Vitality 3-1 in the Grand Finals of VALORANT Champions Shanghai on October 18, taking the 2026 season title. The adopted lineup covers about 90 games and stretches across release years and platforms. Riot Games revealed Hush, a new Duelist for tactical shooter Valorant, on October 18 at the Grand Final of Valorant Champions Shanghai. Hush is described as a Duelist from China with long pink hair and is counted as the game's 30th agent. The agent joins the roster on October 27, local time. A trailer titled "Fall into the void!" shows the character moving quickly over short distances, curving the path of thrown grenades, and pulling enemies toward a single point. A separate short video on the official YouTube channel details her abilities: Telekinesis pulls weapons and the Spike to her from a distance and works switches from farther away than usual; Displacement and Flashbulb can be curved with the crosshair after being thrown, the first pulling enemies in its blast radius and the second blinding with a flash; Flow draws her toward a placed anchor at high speed; and the ultimate, Suspension, throws a controllable orb that makes all players in its area float when it detonates.
The smartphone RPG Cat and Dragon began a collab with the TV anime Ranma 1/2 at 14:00 on October 18, 2026. Four collab-limited UR orbs appear, split between the gacha and event and login bonuses. The gacha carries Ranma, Akane Tendo, and Shampoo, while "Returned from China" Ranma Saotome comes from the Great Recruitment! Scout Rush event and the commemorative login bonus.
Sega streamed a story trailer for STRANGER THAN HEAVEN, RGG Studio's new action adventure game, on Friday. The video covers the first act, the Kokura chapter, and shows the protagonist stowing away on the ship of the trader Orpheus to reach Japan. The game spans five eras and five cities between 1915 and 1965, from Kokura in 1915 to a fictional Kamurocho in 1965, and follows a 50-year story about people with nowhere to go. It launches on January 15, 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, and will also be available through Game Pass. Yu Shirota plays the lead, with Snoop Dogg as Orpheus, Akio Otsuka as Kokura boss Heigo Yashima, Moeka Hoshi as Tae Matsumoto, and Dean Fujioka as Yu Mashiro. Snoop Dogg, Ado, Satoshi Fujihara, and Tori Kelly perform the theme song.
SCENTMATIC will run two scent-selection experiences at TGM fragrance studio, held at Takashimaya Gate Tower Mall in Nagoya from October 7 to October 20, 2026. Its AI system KAORIUM suggests fragrances from a visitor's stated preferences; Fragrance Journey suggests them from photos of travel destinations. Visitors who try either get a fragrance card and a 500-yen coupon at participating shops.
Kojima Productions announced the full contents of its 10th anniversary exhibition, BEYOND THE STRAND, which runs from October 31 to December 20 at Azabudai Hills Gallery. The show includes the first public display of the DEATH STRANDING prototype, early DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH ending proposals, a recreated red door from OD - KNOCK, and a 360-degree video installation.
Lemino will stream the Tokyo Dome performance of BTS WORLD TOUR 'ARIRANG' IN JAPAN, held on April 18, 2026, starting November 28, 2026 at 20:00. The service will also carry behind-the-scenes footage from the same Tokyo date. Both the concert and the behind-the-scenes video are described as Lemino-only, and both fall under Lemino Premium at 1,540 yen per month.
Seiichi Yukimura, the Rikkai University Affiliated Junior High tennis captain known as the "Child of God," appears solo on the cover of the special edition of anan issue 2518, which Magazine House puts on sale Wednesday, November 4. The back cover carries Yukimura plus Renji Yanagi, Kuranosuke Shiraishi, and Kintaro Toyama in black suits. Placed beside the back cover of anan issue 2514, released October 7, the two halves form one gravure with eight characters, two each from Seishun Academy, Hyotei Academy, Rikkai University Affiliated, and Shitenhoji. Issue 2514 gave its solo cover to Keigo Atobe and its back cover to Ryoma Echizen, Syusuke Fuji, Keigo Atobe, and Yushi Oshitari. Kei Urana said Thursday on X that Gachiakuta will resume on November 11. Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine had said on September 8 that it would announce a return date once one was set. The magazine's last new chapter ran in the combined 36th and 37th issue that shipped on August 5, and its site has since listed the series as on hiatus for Urana's research.
Aniplex released the second character promotional video for Fate/EXTRA Record on October 15, focusing on the Masters and Servants of the enemy faction that players will fight in the Moon Holy Grail War. The video, titled RIVAL's SIDE, introduces Shinji Matou, Alice, Run Ru-kun, Julius B. Harwey, Dan Blackmore, Monji Gatou, Leonardo B. Harwey, Rani VIII, and Rin Tohsaka, along with the Servants who fight alongside them. Aniplex also announced a special hands-on event in Tokyo on November 7 and 8, where participants can play a broader portion of the game than in previous demos. Each 90-minute session invites 30 people by lottery, and attendees receive a not-for-sale clear file featuring the key visual. Rockstar Games established a dedicated studio in Los Angeles to handle NPC production for Grand Theft Auto VI, according to a Bloomberg report. While reviewing how many NPCs the game needed, the development team determined its existing production capacity could not keep pace with the writing and animation work required at that scale. Rockstar invested funds and quickly assembled a Los Angeles team of writers, producers, and directors assigned only to NPC production. The characters get separate work on body parts and clothing, and development lead Rob Nelson told IGN that NPCs have their own impulses and may attack the player. Co-development lead Phil Hooker said the engine, tools, and team built during GTA 6 will let the next project move faster, and he and fellow development lead Aaron Garbut said it will not take eight years until the next title. Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for release on November 19, 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Rockstar Games has started selling the Grand Theft Auto VI Collection on its Rockstar Store in Japan, according to GAME Watch. The lineup covers several dozen items: T-shirts, caps, tote bags, Zippo lighters, money clips, keychains, stickers, and a soundtrack. Designs carry the Grand Theft Auto VI logo and the Vice City logo, in blue, pink, red, and white. Prices start at 9,800 yen. All items ship from overseas and carry separate shipping fees, and GAME Watch describes them as Rockstar Store exclusive. The same day, Rockstar released the game's launch trailer, roughly 1 minute 30 seconds long, which debuts "Flower in a Hurricane" by original score composers Justice feat. Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard. Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for release on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The soundtrack is due the same day as the game, on CD, vinyl, and digital.

N LITE, a media company and anime studio based in the U.S. and Tokyo, has appointed four industry veterans to its board of directors, including former Disney Television Animation vice president Jay Francis. The appointments come as the studio expands across feature films, TV, consumer products and publishing, led by its flagship original fantasy epic MFINDA, made with partners including GKIDS, JuVee Productions, Miniature Geant and Jaden Smith.
Sony Interactive Entertainment released Part 1 of the Gran Turismo 7 major update Spec IV on October 15, 2026 at 15:00. Nintendo added three Game Boy Advance titles to its Nintendo Classics library on October 14, 2026. The lineup is Kururin Paradise (2002), Metal Slug Advance (2004), and Monster Farm Advance (2001). Subscribers to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack can play all three at no additional cost. Kururin Paradise is the sequel to Kuru Kuru Kururin, with a rotating stick called a Helirin that players guide to the goal. It adds Mini Game Paradise, a collection of 16 minigames themed around the rotating stick. Metal Slug Advance is a side-scrolling shooter set on a solitary island in the southern seas, where PF squad cadets Walter and Tyra undergo simulated combat training. The game includes Metal Slug Cards, obtained by meeting conditions, that change item effects and character performance. Monster Farm Advance is a breeding simulation set on Age Island, where players input words into ancient stone tablets to revive and raise monsters. The monster that appears changes with the word entered.

Neos will release Nintendo Switch 2 versions of two Crayon Shin-chan games on March 4, 2027, the company announced on October 13, 2026. Crayon Shin-chan: Ora to Hakase no Natsuyasumi ~Owaranai Nanokakan no Tabi~ and Crayon Shin-chan: Sumi no Machi no Shiro both come to the system with mouse controls, 60fps display, higher resolution, an anywhere-save feature, and updated control guides. The two titles ship together in a single package, the Crayon Shin-chan: Ora to Hakase no Natsuyasumi & Sumi no Machi no Shiro 2-in-1 Pack, priced at 9,900 yen including tax for Asia, with both games on one game card. Pre-orders opened on October 13. Download versions include each game separately and a bundle: the bundle is 9,900 yen, Ora Natsu is 6,580 yen, and Sumi Shiro is 6,980 yen, all tax included. Sega began nationwide hands-on events for the action adventure game "STRANGER THAN HEAVEN" on October 11, running across 12 venues in 10 cities in Japan. Premium Bandai will re-release two Super Robot Wars OG kits in its SMP line on October 11. The first is the Astranagant, a black machine standing about 283mm tall when completed, priced at 22,000 yen. It ships with a long Z.O. Sword, weapon and effect parts, and a Gun Familiar with a stored-to-deployed transformation gimmick. A base, support pillar, and dedicated effect parts let buyers recreate the Axion Cannon and Infinity Cylinder attacks. The second is the R-GUN Rivale and Wildschwein set, priced at 27,940 yen. The R-GUN Rivale measures about 330mm including wings; the Wildschwein is about 180mm. The set includes two head options for the R-GUN Rivale, a setting-art head as a bonus, Roche Blade parts that detach to show the firing state, and a Gun Slave that transforms between Charge and Discharge modes. Both are assembly kits with soda-flavor gum. Pre-orders open at 13:00 on October 11.
Yen Press announced five new licenses at New York Comic Con on Friday. The list includes the Fate/strange Fake light novels by Ryohgo Narita with original concept by TYPE-MOON, the Kino's Journey light novels by Keiichi Sigsawa with illustrations by Kouhaku Kuroboshi, and the Spice and Wolf Diner: Gourmet Exploration manga by Sera Murase and original creator Isuna Hasekura. Two more light novel series were also picked up: The Girls Adrift Among the Stars and Dungeon Master: Creating a Hot Spring Dungeon.

Cover Corp. opened the touring exhibition "hololive Grand Reception ~An Invitation Filled with Gratitude~" at TOKYO DREAM PARK in Ariake, Tokyo on October 10, the first stop of a four-city run that continues to Osaka, Nagoya, and Fukuoka. A media preview was held on October 9. Tokyo tickets are 2,500 yen in advance and 3,000 yen on the day, with a 2,000 yen memorial art exchange ticket that includes a book mat. Admission on weekends, holidays, and some weekdays runs by designated date and time and numbered ticket order. The Tokyo venue is on the 7th floor of EX STUDIO7, and the paid hololive Sign Simulation attraction sits in the 3rd-floor lobby at 2,000 yen per session. The exhibition marks the agency's 9th anniversary and runs at the Tokyo venue through November 23.
Rockstar Games has revealed the first six in-game radio stations for Grand Theft Auto VI and confirmed that on-demand podcasts will appear in the series for the first time. The stations are Cocoteo FM (contemporary Latin music), Back Country Radio (country), AfroBank FM (African music), The Chamber 106.6 (classic metal), Flash FM (pop), and Dirty South Classics (classic rap and hip-hop). Flash FM returns as a Vice City station, hosted by Robyn and Alex. Players can listen to radio and podcasts through headphones or earphones connected to the in-game smartphone, letting protagonists Jason and Lucia hear them on foot as well as in vehicles. Previews of the six stations are live on the official website. Rockstar has separately confirmed Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, with 34 tracks including Cardi B's Don't Chart and Fuerza Regida's Suzuki. Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for release on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Strange Scaffold announced Gods with Badges during the Triple-i Initiative Showcase, which aired from 1:00 AM on October 9. The story-focused tactics game follows Harrow McClellan, a disgraced police officer who returns to her old precinct in a future dystopian city. Turning off the body camera unlocks special conversation and combat options. Gods with Badges is scheduled for release on PC via Steam.
ZETA DIVISION-affiliated streamer k4sen will host "League The k4sen" Season: Finale, an 11-day tournament running October 15 to November 22. On October 7, HONEY∞PARADE GAMES posted a video announcing new information about Shinobi NEXUS -Senran Kagura-, a new app game in the Senran Kagura series. The footage, originally planned for a canceled Tokyo Game Show 2026 program, introduces all 15 shinobi girls from three academies and shows the main story's prologue, where Kohime, Inori, and Akira meet. A November 2026 program focused on gameplay is set to stream.
Trans-N released version 2.5.1 of Swama, an open-source platform for running large language models locally on Apple silicon Macs. FGO PROJECT announced on October 7 that Fate/Grand Order's Grand Proxy Battle opens October 23. Clearing the main story The Beginning of Aftertime and the Grand Release Battle of Grand Coronation Battle: Extra lets players take part; progress expands the Extra Class Grand Servant slots from 2 to 4. A limited-time raid battle with Extra Class Grand Servants is also planned, and 62 pickup summons for 5-star Extra Class Servants are running now.
Paradox Interactive released Transport Fever 3 on September 30. In a roundtable interview, Urban Games publishing manager Nico Heini and Artdink director Junaki Ono with producer Takayuki Kiyomichi discussed both railway management sims. Urban Games is a Swiss studio founded by two brothers; Artdink marks 40 years, and its A-Train 9 PRIME LINE is set for Steam on December 10.
Piranha Games released the Ashes & Ascension DLC for MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries on October 7, 2026, for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, and Xbox One. The paid expansion adds an 18-mission story campaign set in the Inner Sphere between 3058 and 3060, 13 new Clan mechs, new Inner Sphere OmniMechs and variants, 11 weapon systems, five Career Mode starting factions, and an updated faction map. Free updates rework pilot traits and the interface.
