A prize figure of Saki's Nodoka Haramura is appearing in arcades nationwide from Friday, September 25, 2026, under the GLITTER&GLAMOURS brand. The figure stands about 27cm tall and reproduces the inside-cover illustration from volume 26 of Ritz Kobayashi's manga. According to Magmix, the figure's proportions have drawn social media reactions including "It's too huge," "Isn't it bigger than her face?," and "It's faithfully reproduced from the manga." The GLITTER&GLAMOURS line is described as pursuing a glossy finish. Saki has run in Young Gangan since 2006 and has 27 collected volumes as of the Amazon Manga Weekend Festival coverage, with volume 27 still ongoing in the Inter-High finals taisho match. McDonald's Japan launched the "Golden Campaign" with Ayumi Hamasaki on October 2, a collaboration running through December 31 that centers on a one-night-only live taping called "Golden Live," limited to 200 attendees. Entry is offered through the McDonald's official app rewards program, My McDonald's Rewards. The taping is scheduled for November 21 at 19:30 somewhere in Tokyo. A live set image was published with the announcement. The October 2 start date coincides with Hamasaki's birthday. ABEMA will carry the anime adaptation of 'Kashita Maryoku wa [Ribo Barai] de Kyousei Choushuu,' the isekai fantasy comic by Masakichi and artist Shingou Iijima. From October 3, each Saturday at 26:00, the latest episode gets exclusive unlimited streaming and free broadcast on the ABEMA Anime Channel after its terrestrial run. A recap special with lead voice actors airs September 29.

Producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi and director Eiichiro Sasaki discussed the action RPG Stupid Never Dies ahead of its October 22 release, saying its combat targets the head-on, guard-free brawling of Chainsaw Man's Denji. Shogakukan's Yawaraka Spirits website announced that Yuna Anisaki will launch a manga adapting Kazuki Karasawa's novel Kōkyū Gohi no Kuroshiro na Oshigoto on September 18. The fantasy story is set in the country of Ginran and follows Kairin, a girl scorned for her black and white hair, who reunites with crown prince Seiken years later in the imperial rear palace.

ARK, a Hiratsuka-based company developing modular closed recirculating aquaculture systems, has appointed Yosuke Sasaki as an outside director. Nijisanji livers Sasaki Saku reached 1 million YouTube subscribers on August 12, 2026. The milestone was confirmed during a livestream that began at 7:00 PM JST, where Sasaki watched the count cross the threshold with viewers. Upon reaching the number, she shouted "Kitaaa" and thanked fans, saying "Thank you for 1 million." The achievement came after a false alarm on August 10, when the subscriber count briefly displayed 1 million before dropping back to the 990,000 range. Sasaki, who was away visiting family at the time, posted on X that the count had not actually reached the milestone, describing the jump from 990,000 to 1.02 million as suspicious behavior. She debuted on July 6, 2018, as part of the former Nijisanji Gamers, and briefly graduated in November 2018 before returning in January 2019. In June 2026, she updated her official visual from a student appearance to an adult look, and in July she marked her eighth anniversary. A television anime adaptation of Aito Aoyagi's novel Red Riding Hood: A Detective Story, also known as Little Red Riding Hood Encounters a Dead Body During Her Journey, was announced on Monday via a new official website. The site revealed a teaser trailer, teaser visual, main cast, and staff. Yume Miyamoto voices Red Riding Hood, and Akira Sekine voices Pinocchio. Itsurō Kawasaki, known for Baban Baban Ban Vampire, directs and writes the script at BENTEN Film. Manami Minakata and Yūko Yahiro design the characters. The story follows Red Riding Hood as she travels through a fairy-tale world, solving crimes with her clever mind. The teaser trailer includes the line, "Why is your criminal plan so sloppy?" Futabasha published the novel in August 2020. A manga adaptation by Tanakanoka ran in Monthly Action and later moved to Web Action, ending with its fourth volume in June 2025. The franchise has also been adapted into a live-action Netflix film titled Once Upon a Crime.

Capcom held a media tour and hands-on event for Onimusha: Way of the Sword, the first completely new entry in the series in 20 years, ahead of its September 4 release on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. The playable build covered the section after the Ganryu battle, including the wide-linear Kyoto field and boss fights against Daidara, Raishogan, and Byakue. The field reproduces real Kyoto landmarks such as Kiyomizu-dera, Yasui Konpira-gu, Rokudo Chinno-ji, and Kennin-ji, with the Kiyomizu stage matching the real floorboard count. The Raishogan battle at Yasui Konpira-gu stood out for its variety of attacks and clear countermeasures, including cutting bond threads with a bow to weaken the boss. The Switch 2 version supports Joy-Con 2 motion controls for one-handed and two-handed attacks. The demo's difficulty was intentionally accessible, but the full game includes stronger enemies and more complex attack patterns. Producer Akito Kadowaki and Director Ken Nihei also discussed the game's sound design, which uses a custom sound-effect sword and a suitcase with a broken drum pedal to create the special move sounds.

Seven Seas Entertainment announced seven new manga licenses on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, spanning isekai adventures, supernatural horror, and a yuri romance. The slate includes The Berserker NPC Unknowingly Destroys the World, Influencer Hero: After Saving Another World, I Got Rich Streaming Dungeons!, Wandmaker of the Ruined World, The Kaiju Autopsy, The Moon Cries at the Final Wish, My House Cat Became the World's Strongest?!, and It's a Secret, Shirotae-sama. Each series will debut in English print between February and May 2027, with volume 1 priced at $13.99 USD / $18.99 CAD. Several titles are manga adaptations of existing light novels, including Wandmaker of the Ruined World, which is based on a novel by Hagane Kurodome with art by Nori Kazato and Kayahara. The Berserker NPC and Influencer Hero also originate from light novels, with the former's novel already available digitally from Seven Seas. The Kaiju Autopsy, a standalone work by Mado Saito, follows a scientist investigating a colossal kaiju corpse. The Moon Cries at the Final Wish, by Suu Minazuki, centers on a vampire angel and the Seven Luminaries. My House Cat Became the World's Strongest?! features a giant cat leading its owner through dungeons, while It's a Secret, Shirotae-sama is a vampire academy romance under the Seven Seas GL imprint.

Akumi Agitogi, author of My Happy Marriage, and Masaki Kazuka, artist of Fiancée of the Wizard, have launched a new manga titled Miko to Yashayome. Kadokawa's B's-LOG COMIC published Chapter 0 on July 24, and serialization began Wednesday. The story follows sorceress Miyabi Mori, who marries into the Koiwai family and tries to save her cursed husband Kuon.

The TV anime adaptation of the manga FX Senshi Kurumi-chan will begin broadcasting in October 2026, the production committee announced on August 1. The ending theme, titled with currency symbols, is sung by Aina Suzuki as protagonist Kurumi Fukuga, with the three newly announced cast members joining her on the track. The staff of Star Wars: Visions Presents - The Ninth Jedi revealed the Japanese voice cast on Friday. The limited series spinoff from the Star Wars: Visions project will premiere on August 5 on Disney+ and Hulu. The fourth season of the KonoSuba anime, titled KonoSuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World! 4, was announced at the "Colorful" 10th anniversary event on July 26, 2026.
