Sega NET Mahjong MJ is in the middle of its Pachi Eva CUP 2 collaboration with the pachinko machine Neon Genesis Evangelion ~Hajimari no Kioku~, which opened October 5, 2026 and runs a national tournament through October 25. The promotion follows a Twin Angel 20th anniversary cup that concluded October 4.
Sega NET Mahjong MJ has run a steady cadence of collaboration tournaments through 2026, each tied to another Sega or licensed property and each spread across the app and arcade versions. The Lupin III pachislot event ran June 1 to June 21 with a nationwide tournament and themed gacha items. The Twin Angel 20th anniversary cup followed from September 14, with qualifiers split into two weeks and finals ending October 4. The current Pachi Eva CUP 2 opened October 5 and runs qualifiers through October 18 and finals through October 25.
Two details recur across those collaborations. Tournaments use Tonpuusen and three-player mahjong categories, and rewards arrive through gacha. Twin Angel offered an evolution-type SP character (UR), table backgrounds, EX backgrounds, and BGM. Pachi Eva CUP 2 offers 65 collaboration item types and draws on the art of the pachinko machine Neon Genesis Evangelion ~Hajimari no Kioku~ rather than the anime.
Outside the collaboration schedule, the game held a 13th Anniversary Tournament stream on July 16, with four M-League players (Genta Takeuchi, Yu Suzuki, Akina Mizuhara, and Takanori Nagai) and commentary from Maki Asami and Koshin Asakura. An official offline event in Nagoya is set for September 13 at Chunichi Hall, free to attend, with 42 participants chosen by lottery from applications submitted by August 2 and six professional players as guests.
