Shinobi: Revenge's Slash Switch 2 Version Launches September 24
Sega announced on June 19 that the Nintendo Switch 2 version of "SHINOBI: Revenge's Slash" will be released on September 24, 2026. The standard edition costs 3,300 yen, while a Digital Deluxe Edition bundling all downloadable content, a digital art book, and soundtrack is priced at 4,400 yen. The physical edition uses a key card format requiring an internet connection and at least 12GB of free space. The Switch 2 version improves handheld resolution to 1080p for sharper visuals. Save data from the original Nintendo Switch version can be transferred, but there is no upgrade path; Switch owners must buy the new version separately. The game is a new entry in Sega's Shinobi series, developed jointly by Lizardcube and Sega. It follows ninja Joe Musashi as he seeks revenge against the armed organization ENE Corporation. The original Shinobi series debuted as an arcade game in 1987, and this is the first new entry in 14 years since 2011's "Shinobi 3D." The game was released for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One in August 2025, and was nominated for Best Action Game at The Game Awards 2025.
