The reduction was reported by US outlet Kotaku on August 13, 2026, and confirmed by the company in a statement. According to that statement, four staff members from the Boston office and five from the Warsaw office were laid off, while nine others were made available to apply for other projects. This brings the staff involved with Project Sirius down to 65, from the 83 assigned as of April 30, 2026, per a CD PROJEKT RED announcement on May 29, 2026. The company said it adjusted the size of the Sirius team to reflect the needs of the project during the development phase. Project Sirius was first announced in 2022.
