Happinet announced on August 13, 2026 that it will release the Nintendo Switch 2 package edition of the cat adventure game Stray on November 12. The price is 4,400 yen, and pre-orders open today at retailers and online shops nationwide. The game, developed by BlueTwelve Studio and published by Annapurna Interactive, follows a stray cat navigating a decaying cybercity to escape. The Switch 2 version supports high-resolution play in both TV and handheld modes, and it adds mouse operation using Joy-Con 2. The package edition includes a limited bonus: a "Companions' Alphabet Card" that lists the in-game language in alphabetical notation, letting players decipher it during play. The jacket is reversible, featuring new artwork by poster artist Matt Taylor. Store-specific bonuses include an acrylic cat tag at Amazon and a mouse pad at GEO. The game is rated CERO B (ages 12 and up) and supports one player with no online play. Happinet releases the title under its Happinet Indie Collection label, which curates indie games from around the world.

The Chiikawa Bakery Kyoto Pop Up Shop will run from August 13 to September 9, 2026, at the JR Kyoto Station West Gate ticket gate special venue, operated by LTR, a subsidiary of CL Holdings. The shop will sell bakery original goods and Kyoto- items, including a collaboration with Kyoto confectionery maker Miseju on a limited 'Chiikawa Bakery Fuwafuwa Otabe Caramel' priced at 1,460 yen with a random sticker. The shop will also offer original breads such as Chiikawa, Hachiware, and Usagi shokupan at 950 yen each, plus mascots, flake stickers, eco bags, cookies, and trays. A purchase bonus gives a Kyoto-limited shopper tag for purchases over 2,200 yen. The bakery's permanent locations include Omokado at Tokyu Plaza Omotesando, opened in October 2024, and KITTE Osaka, opened in June 2026. The pop-up is free entry with possible crowd control. The Chiikawa manga by Nagano has eight volumes published by Kodansha, and the TV anime airs within Mezamashi TV on Fuji TV since April 2022.

Ambition's smartphone game Bungo Stray Dogs: Tales of the Lost will end service on Friday, July 31, according to announcements on the game's official Japanese and English websites. The shutdown follows the closure of its developer, Ambition. The game first launched in Japan in 2017, with an English version released in July 2018. Crunchyroll served as publisher of the English version from November 2018 until November 2020, after which Ambition resumed management. The developer confirmed that no refunds will be issued for unused in-game currency, specifically Ability Stones, in line with the service terms. The game's end marks the conclusion of a nearly eight-year run for the puzzle RPG. The broader Bungo Stray Dogs franchise continues across other media. The manga by Kafka Asagiri and Sango Harukawa, serialized in Kadokawa's Young Ace since December 2012, remains ongoing. The fifth anime season aired in 2023, and the second season of the spinoff Bungo Stray Dogs Wan! premiered on July 2. Another mobile game, Gakuen Bungo Stray Dogs, developed by NextNinja, launched in November 2025.

Onion Games has announced a premium physical edition of its RPG "Stray Children" for Nintendo Switch, set for release on December 10, 2026, at 10,978 yen. The "Stray Children TREASURE BOX" is a limited first-print run produced only for pre-orders, with no additional manufacturing planned after the order period ends. The box includes the game cartridge with all updates applied, the "Stray Book" development archive spanning approximately 160 pages of sketches and setting art by character designer Kazuyuki Kurashima, background artist Satoshi Katsuta, and director Yoshiro Kimura. Also included is an experience music CD for the in-game fictional RPG "Mikazuki," described in the game as a title canceled in 1997, featuring chiptune music by the group Thelonious Monkeys. A cloth antique map titled "The Night Before the World's Collapse" and an acrylic keychain featuring the protagonist and his companion complete the set. Pre-orders opened on July 24. A talk show to commemorate the announcement is scheduled for July 25 at 20:30 JST on Kimura's X account, featuring Kimura, Kurashima, and Thelonious Monkeys members Masanori Adachi and Hiroshi Taniguchi, hosted by Yamaguchi Quest.

Bandai Spirits will hold THE GUNDAM BASE POP-UP WORLD TOUR in YOKOHAMA from July 10 to August 31, 2026, at Yokohama Sky Building. The event is the last domestic Japan stop of the global tour commemorating Gunpla's 45th anniversary. A new Bungo Stray Dogs spinoff manga by Shikiji Sorakura will launch in Kadokawa's Young Ace magazine on July 3. The manga adapts "Dazai o Hirotta Hi" (The Day I Took In Dazai), a novel bonus for the 2022 live-action film Bungo Stray Dogs the Movie: Beast.
