Tomokazu Seki voices Kunishige Rokuhira in the Kagurabachi anime, which premieres in April 2027, and appears as Warrior #7 in the Sgt. Frog 20th anniversary film that opened in Japan on June 26.
Tomokazu Seki's two most recent roles sit at opposite ends of the scale. In Kagurabachi he voices Kunishige Rokuhira, the father of protagonist Chihiro, a role the official website announced on June 19 alongside a character visual and trailer. Seki described Kunishige as a legendary swordsmith and a warmhearted father, and said he aimed to convey both sides naturally. The anime is directed by Tetsuya Takeuchi at studio Cypic, with character designs by Keigo Sasaki, and is set to premiere in April 2027.
The production has been putting its cast in front of audiences ahead of that date. A world tour began in July 2026 at Anime Expo in Los Angeles, with later stops in Paris, Germany, and New York screening the first 20 minutes of the first episode; the full first episode is set for Japan in spring 2027. At Anime Expo 2026, Taihi Kimura, who voices Chihiro, spoke about working with Seki, saying Seki's first line led him. Kimura had landed the role through an audition and called holding back Chihiro's resolve his hardest task.
Seki's other recent credit is smaller. The Sgt. Frog 20th anniversary film, Shin Gekijōban ☆ Keroro Gunsō Fukkatsu Shite Sokkō Chikyū Metsubō no Kiki de Arimasu!, announced seven additional guest voice cast members, with Seki as Warrior #7. The film opened in Japan on June 26, supervised and written by Yūichi Fukuda and directed by Fumitoshi Oizaki at Bandai Namco Pictures. A new Sgt. Frog television anime with a brand-new cast debuts in fall 2026.
