Players control Subaru riding a pogo stick, using bounce calculations, angle adjustments, and jump height control to aim for the summit. The game is designed so a moment of carelessness can be fatal. The story involves an emergency dispatch from Oozora Police after receiving a contact from Otonose Kanade, who is at the summit. Active hololive JP and hololive DEV_IS members appear in the game and can be interacted with. Suba Pogo is published under holo Indie, CCMC's brand for fan-made games using a creator support program, aiming to co-create with hololive fans and creators worldwide. The game supports Japanese, English, Indonesian, and Korean languages.
The live-action Look Back film announced that musician Kenshi Yonezu, actress-singer Tōko Miura, and animator-director Yōko Kuno will contribute as special guest staff. Yonezu performs guitar under the Shark Kick Guitar moniker, Miura sings an insert song, and Kuno directs a rotoscoped animation sequence produced by Shinei Animation. When a giant invader attacks, her butler Sebastian gives her a drink that makes her grow to giant size to defend the town, though her efforts often cause destruction. The manga has been serialized on Shogakukan's Sunday Webry service since July 2020. Shogakukan will publish the 12th compiled volume on August 10. The manga was nominated for best web manga in the eighth Next Manga Awards in 2022 and ranked fifth in AnimeJapan's sixth Most Wanted Anime Adaptation poll in 2023.
Seven Seas Entertainment announced seven new manga licenses on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, spanning isekai adventures, supernatural horror, and a yuri romance. The slate includes The Berserker NPC Unknowingly Destroys the World, Influencer Hero: After Saving Another World, I Got Rich Streaming Dungeons!, Wandmaker of the Ruined World, The Kaiju Autopsy, The Moon Cries at the Final Wish, My House Cat Became the World's Strongest?!, and It's a Secret, Shirotae-sama. Each series will debut in English print between February and May 2027, with volume 1 priced at $13.99 USD / $18.99 CAD. The Berserker NPC and Influencer Hero also originate from light novels, with the former's novel already available digitally from Seven Seas. The Kaiju Autopsy, a standalone work by Mado Saito, follows a scientist investigating a colossal kaiju corpse. The Moon Cries at the Final Wish, by Suu Minazuki, centers on a vampire angel and the Seven Luminaries. My House Cat Became the World's Strongest?! features a giant cat leading its owner through dungeons, while It's a Secret, Shirotae-sama is a vampire academy romance under the Seven Seas GL imprint.
DMM Pictures announced on Thursday that Mitsuki Mii's manga "Kusunoki's Flunking Her High School Glow-Up" is receiving a television anime adaptation. The series will star Yūto Uemura as Keisuke Shizuki and Tomori Kusunoki as Shizuka Kusunoki. Midori Yui, who has served as an episode director on series including "Carole & Tuesday" and "Love Flops," is directing the anime at studios Passione and Hayabusa Film. Yui is also handling the series composition. Koji Haneda, known for character design on "Spice & Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf," is the character designer. Hyadain, the composer for all seasons of "Rent-A-Girlfriend," is composing the music. Suzune Ishikawa is the animation producer. The original manga launched on Ichijinsha's Comic POOL service in October 2022 and has seven volumes in circulation. Kodansha USA Publishing releases the manga in English. The story follows two high school students, Keisuke Shizuki and Shizuka Kusunoki, who were both social outcasts in middle school and are now navigating their new lives. Voice actor Kikunosuke Toya will release his first digital single "Off to the Groove" on July 26. He wrote the lyrics and music himself. FLIPFLOPs' Darwin's Game ~Flag Game~ spinoff novel is getting a manga adaptation drawn by Guuno, launching in the November issue of Bessatsu Shōnen Champion, shipping in October. The novel centers on the past of side characters Shuka and Rein. The original Darwin's Game manga ended in 2023, and a live-action film is set for 2027.
Visual Arts announced a new brand, VISUAL ARTS Scripts, and its first title, Sayagatari -Yōtō no Yakusoku-, a visual novel where players fight monsters and receive kisses from a heroine who seals cursed swords. Genco Inc. announced on June 24 that a pop-up shop commemorating the release of the novel 'Sushi-ya no Goto' will run from June 25 to July 5 at Calendarum on the second floor of Shinjuku Marui Annex in Tokyo. The novel, written by series composition and scriptwriter Kazunori Ito and published by Bungeishunju, depicts former Special Vehicles Section 2nd Division 2nd Platoon Captain Kiichi Goto running a small sushi restaurant in Atami 30 years after the events of the original series, with visits from former squad members. The pop-up shop sells goods featuring the cover illustration by manga author Masami Yuki, including clear files, tenugui hand towels, acrylic stands, and keychains. It also carries the novel itself, a special feature magazine, and some theatrical merchandise from the ongoing 'Mobile Police Patlabor EZY FILE1' project. No advance reservation is required, but numbered tickets may be distributed on weekends due to expected congestion. Weekday hours are 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with weekend hours starting earlier. The novel is priced at 1,980 yen for the print edition and 1,900 yen for the digital edition, spanning 272 pages.

The original anime film "Wasted Chef" from director Takayuki Hirao received its first teaser visual during the Annecy Animation Showcase at the 79th Cannes International Film Festival, held May 15-17. The visual shows two characters making hamburgers, paired with the tagline "That day, 'you' and 'taste' disappeared from the world." Hirao and producer Ryoichiro Matsuo of studio CLAP attended the showcase to present the project. They described the film as a combination of cooking and science fiction, with the Latin word "restaurare" (to heal, restore) as a central keyword. The core creative team from Hirao's previous film "Pompo: The Cinéphile" reunites for this project: character designer Shingo Adachi, composer Kenta Matsukuma, and studio CLAP. A special trailer will screen during revival showings of "Pompo: The Cinéphile" in Japan starting May 29. More details are expected at a stage greeting event on May 31. The television anime adaptation of the romance fantasy manga The Duke's Son Claims He Won't Love Me Yet Showers Me with Adoration announced two new cast members on Wednesday. Ryōhei Kimura voices Aleksis Josef Ralt, the crown prince of the kingdom of Ralt and lord of Julius Royus. Ryōta Suzuki voices Jere Ekrous, an aide to Prince Aleksis. The series is scheduled to premiere in July on TV Asahi and BS Asahi. The previously announced cast includes Yui Ishikawa as Elsa Eukrainen, Sōma Saitō as Julius Royus, Kaito Ishikawa as Jarmo Parnilla, Chika Anzai as Serafiina Parnilla, Hibiku Yamamura as Rebeka Rikkonen, and Junya Enoki as Hannes Eukrainen. Hitoyuki Matsui directs at studios Zero-G and Grass, with Kaoru Suzuki credited for planning technical direction. Tomoko Konparu oversees series scripts and Yūko Yahiro designs the characters. MICHIRU composes the music. The manga, written by Kei Misawa and illustrated by Natsu Mizuno, began on the BookLive digital bookstore in February 2021. Flex Comix shipped the fifth compiled volume on March 13 and offers the series in English on digital platforms.
