VRChat Inc., the US-based operator of the social VR platform VRChat, announced on July 31, 2026, that it will exhibit at Tokyo Game Show 2026 for the first time. The event runs from September 17 to 21 at Makuhari Messe, with September 17 and 18 as business days and September 19 to 21 as public days. The company's booth, located in Hall 8 at number 08-N08, will operate under the theme "See, Touch, Experience," offering daily stage events on the main stage featuring guests such as streamers, creators, and collaborative IPs. A hands-on corner will let first-time visitors try VRChat on the spot without bringing VR equipment, with staff on hand to assist. The company also plans venue-exclusive novelties and special content for booth visitors. Details on performers, stage programs, and booth content will be released in two future announcements. VRChat Inc. CEO Graham Gaylor said the appearance is an opportunity to thank Japanese users and creators and to welcome newcomers. A store page for a Meta Quest game called 'Meccha Chameleon VR' has appeared on the Meta Quest store, offering pre-orders at 600 yen. The game closely resembles the popular hide-and-seek title 'Meccha Chameleon', which has sold over 15 million copies as of July 5. The developer of the original game, Lemorion, has issued a warning on X, stating that they did not grant any permission for the creation of this VR version. Lemorion added that they are currently filing a takedown request and urged users not to purchase the game. The developer and publisher of the imitation game, Orbit Edge Studio, appears to be based in Pakistan according to its privacy policy. The title is identical to the original except for the addition of 'VR' at the end, and screenshots on the store page are nearly identical to those used on the original's Steam store page.

DPVR announced that its PC-connected VR headset, the DPVR E4, has been adopted for the arcade racing game Asphalt 9 Legends Arcade VR, developed by Australian arcade manufacturer LAI Games. The DPVR E4 features a 4K-class display with a resolution of 3664x1920 pixels, a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz, and a lightweight design of approximately 280 grams. The headset uses inside-out 6DoF tracking, eliminating the need for external base stations, which simplifies installation in arcade facilities.
