Toei Announces Dual Shadow Precure Spin-off With Villain Heroines for 2027
The franchise has built 23 television works and 34 films on heroes who transform to protect their everyday lives, so a spin-off that gives the lead to villain heroines, with no existing series to continue, is Toei testing the formula without a Precure at the center.

Toei Animation has confirmed a new Precure spin-off, Dual Shadow: Precure Villain Heroines, with broadcast planned for 2027. A teaser PV opens on a flower field, cuts to the line "Because we're not Precure", and shows a single spotlighted flower with a watching eye behind it. The work uses original characters and an original story rather than continuing an existing series. Broadcast format and station are not yet announced.
The franchise it joins is large. Futari wa Pretty Cure began on February 1, 2004, the television series has run to 23 works, and 34 films have been released; Meitantei Precure! is the current entry. Toei names Power of Hope: Precure Full Bloom and Witchy Precure!! MIRAI DAYS among earlier spin-offs. Dual Shadow is described as original characters and an original story, and the release leans on the word villain as the selling point. Broadcast is planned for 2027. Format and station are not yet announced.
