Why it matters
Microsoft is spending promotional weight on a one-off physical build from a film creature studio, a sweepstakes stunt rather than a product, and it is keeping the giveaway inside the United States.

John Nolan Studio, which has worked on The Witcher and Jurassic World Dominion, built it. A wireless controller with bite marks sits at the mouth. It plays games, though Microsoft recommends display use. One US winner gets it by lottery.
The sculpture runs over 5 feet from snout to tail, and the console inside is a working Xbox Series X. John Nolan Studio built it with 3D modeling and other techniques to reproduce the crocodile's texture, work the studio has done for film productions.
The giveaway is a lottery open to residents of the United States, and residents of Japan cannot enter. Microsoft's own post frames the build as something to play rather than pet, and asks entrants to follow and repost with a hashtag, with entries closing on 11/10/26. The company also states that no real crocodiles were used and none were harmed.
